Tonight in the main event of NXT WarGames: we saw a lot of great moments. Tony D’Angelo used a crowbar, Grayson Waller took to the skies for an incredible elbow drop, and Bron Breakker pinned Tomasso Ciampa. However, the biggest of all was the entrance of Johnny Gargano.
A beloved figure with the fans of NXT – when his old theme song hit, and he came out in a gear that mashed up his previous NXT Takeover gears – people got a bit emotional. When #DIY reunited and kicked the head of Breakker in, everyone loved it. However, we might get one more night of Johnny Wrestling in NXT – as he will be showing up on Tuesday for NXT 2.0.
Johnny Gargano Promises To Tell All On NXT 2.0
This doesn’t mean that Gargano signed a contract extension, as this still covers his one week extension which was signed back on December 3rd. He will become a free agent after December 10th, but after the cameras turned off for WarGames, Gargano would inform fans that he will “tell all ” on this week’s episode of NXT 2.0.
It’s likely this is just his send off from the company, as you really can’t just have Gargano quietly leave. This is a man who defined a generation of the brand, the main character of NXT for a very long time. He’s been NXT Champion, NXT Tag Team Champion, NXT North American faction.
Main events of Takeovers and preshows, would be graced with his matches – and he always gave 100%. Giving him back the CFO$ produced theme song for tonight showed they care about the fans in his regard – so a big sendoff is just right.
Kyle O’Reilly To Show Up As Well – Having A Steel Cage Match
Likewise, Kyle O’Reilly isn’t done following WarGames. His attempt at becoming the NXT Tag Team Champions with Von Wagner was followed by Wagner trying to attack him. O’Reilly would call him out for a cage match on NXT – likely to be his final match in WWE before he joins some Undisputed pals over in the other major company.
His extension will run out around the same time as Garganos. Both have been offered big multi-year deals, but neither have taken these offers at the time of writing. Do you think either will sign new contracts with WWE? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
