Tom Holland and Zendaya have criticised those who have questioned their relationship on the grounds of their respective height.

Tom may be known for playing one of the most iconic superheroes in the world, through the role of Spiderman, but that has not been enough for a certain amount of people.
It turns out that Zendaya is actually taller than him, which has caused disharmony for those who feel that males should traditionally be taller.
During an interview on this topic, Tom said: “Yeah it’s a stupid assumption [height causes a problem]. My mom is taller than my dad. My mom is taller than everyone. Ridiculous.”
Much in the same way, Zendaya also felt that the criticism was overboard. But unlike Tom, she felt that this was part of a much wider problem of stereotypical views and stigmas being perpetuated about what a typical relationship should look like.
This is not being helped by the fact that they both work in the acting industry, where there is an expectation to conform to certain standards. However, for Zendaya, she felt that the criticism was bordering on unacceptable.
She stated: “[It is a] screwed up’ mentality. misogynistic [and] problematic.” Regardless of whether you believe that height is an important factor, it is important to bear this in mind.
First of all, the height difference between the two is hardly that great. Tom, for his part, is 5ft 8. Meanwhile, Zendaya is 5ft 10.
In addition, the very fact that they both starred in the Spiderman movies with the producers knowing that there was a height difference, suggested that it was not a big problem especially when their romance had to convince the public.
Tom added: “I remember when we were doing the Spider Man screen tests, I mean — you’d have to ask Jon Watts this question — but every girl that we tested for both roles was taller than me.”
So there you have it! Tom’s height is not getting in the way of his relationship with Zendaya. And if that is the only thing of concern, then the pair are in a really good place.
