Jana Duggar has opened up on how she is coping following the news that she had been charged with endangering the welfare of her child.

According to reports, Jana faced child endangerment charges in September of this year, 2021. However, Jana decided to plead not guilty to the charges directed towards her.
It is not clear yet what the punishment could be, but there is the possibility that Jana could end up getting a prison sentence of up to 90 days. Equally, it could be a fine or combination of the two things.
That is why Jana has decided to set things straight to make sure that any misunderstandings were cleared up. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Jana said: “I was babysitting…A passerby who saw the child called the police.
“This resulted in a written citation, as well as a follow-up with child welfare who concluded that it was an accident and the child was unharmed. They recognised it was a case of a child slipping out of the house.”
If these comments are taken to be true, then it would suggest that it was a mistake by Jana that could have happened to anyone. But given that she is part of the Duggar family, then any actions that she ends up doing are only going to be scrutinised.
This is especially in light of the fact that Jana’s brother Josh Duggar had recently gotten on the wrong side of the law for being in possession of child pornography.
She added: “I prefer a more private life, but I know my last name means that everything we do is open to public criticism and interest, especially during this time.”
Luckily for Jana, there was no damage done to her child. That does not justify the fact that there was a dangerous situation, but it does put it into the proper context.
That is why she thanked all those who stood by her to make sure that she was fine during this difficult time. Her following comments confirmed as much: “I am grateful for law enforcement and those who protect and serve our community.”
