Britney Spears is planning to make a comeback to music after her lengthy conservatorship was ended late this year. Announcing the pending song on her Instagram, she also made sure to chew her family out in the process.
Britney Spears Is Getting Back in the Studio
While she is working on new music, she said that she wouldn’t be holding auditions and was looking to show her family that she isn’t going to forget or forgive them for what she went through during the conservatorship. The 40-year-old singer wants all the smoke during the holidays, folks.

In the video, she shows off her vocals and also rattled off her achievements. Glory was the last album Britney Spears dropped and that was back in 2016. This was deep into her conservatorship. The album was well-received and pushed by singles “Make Me” and “Slumber Party” as well as several live performances.
Last year, Spears said that she wouldn’t be performing as long as Jamie Spears had control over her career. In the year prior, her scheduled Britney: Domination residency at the Park Theatre in Vegas was canceled as part of her hiatus.
She isn’t expected to make a full-on dive back into the competitive music industry at the moment. Plus, it has changed drastically from when she last released music as hot songs cool down rapidly now. However, she seems enthused to just make music again knowing that she—and her own team—will benefit from the fruits of her work.
Britney Spears didn’t drop any actual details about the song she’s working on. When paired with her taking her family to task, the first guess is that it could be very personal. On the other hand, it could be a song she’s doing to show her family she still has it and doesn’t need them direct and control every aspect of her career.
No date has been announced for the song’s release but we’ll see what she delivers.
