Actor David Koechner’s estranged wife Leigh Morgan Koechner has reportedly become concerned about the safety of her children in response to David’s recent arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to reports, David’s level of alcohol was above the legal limit. As such, he ended up hitting a street sign after he lost control of his car.
Although there were no serious injuries left as a result of this incident, the very fact of the matter is that it could have been a whole lot worse. And that is something that is praying on Leigh’s mind.
According to TMZ, Leigh wants the courts to issue an order that would have restrictions in place to protect her children. She is looking to have “safeguards be put in place to ensure (Koechner’s) sobriety.”
This begs the question, what would such measures be? Well, it is natural to expect David to undergo some form of rehabilitation in order to ensure that he is not in a state of intoxication when he sees his children.
After all, David is the father to five children some of whom are not of adult age as of yet. That is why Leigh demands the following.
TMZ added: “Leigh requests the actor submit to drug testing as well as use a Soberlink device to monitor alcohol consumption.” In response, David is determined to fight this order on the grounds that it is disproportionate.
David Koechner stressed that given his kids were absent at the time of the arrest, coupled with the fact that they were not in the car when it happened, he should be given a break.
That is not to say that David does not feel he needs professional help, but rather, there are other ways of solving this problem. In this way, he is happy to seek help for his drinking problem.
Time will tell what will happen, but given what we have seen so far, it is clear that David needs to clean up his act. And that is only going to be a good thing for the sake of everybody involved.
