The WWE opening the Forbidden Door to NWA star and Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James was HUGE news and a first for the company in a long time.
They even went so far as to invite Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Tag Team Champions The IInspiration (Formerly the Iconics), Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee, but they turned down the invitation.
There’s plenty of other possibilities out there, but we think they’re inviting former WWE stars who know how the company works and who Vince McMahon is comfortable with.
It may even be his way of apologizing for releasing them, or in Mickie’s case how her belongings were sent to her.
But there are some reports out there that the WWE is keeping the Forbidden Door shut to one company, and that’s AEW.
No Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho
The news came from Dave Meltzer when he spoke with F4WOnline. He addressed the growing rumors that AEW’s Jon Moxley and/or Chris Jericho are the mystery guests in the men’s Royal Rumble this year.
However, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer noted that Jon Moxley and AEW will have no involvement in the Royal Rumble event.

“Whatever rumors are going around: There will be no AEW involvement at the Royal Rumble. Jon Moxley will not be at that show.”
If true, this puts a damper on the hopes and dreams of many fans, but the WWE hasn’t wasted any time in cashing in on them for their gain.

Paying attention to the competition
From using CM Punk’s comment to create a shirt to naming Jon Moxley (formerly Dean Ambrose in WWE) twice on Smackdown, once from Seth Rollins, the WWE is trying to build hype on those rumors.
This doesn’t mean the cold war between the companies is over or anything, and it could heighten if Meltzer’s wrong and they do crossover as we don’t see Vince McMahon allowing them to come out to their AEW entrance music.
This also flies in the face of Triple H and others at WWE saying they don’t pay any attention to AEW, but we’ve know they do since the beginning. It’d be irresponsible not to.
But if the WWE does allow then to participate and they come out to their music, the next question is will Mox, Jericho, or Mickie eliminate anyone of note, or just future budget cut releases?
