It’s Wednesday and that means another week in the wrestling war! We’ve got another ep of AEW Dynamite to look forward to tonight, and as always, a fair few major matches being advertised well in advance! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give some analysis of what to expect, and what brought us here!
Of course, it’s not only matches that we’re looking at, but big segments as well. And you can’t get bigger – atleast not in terms of branding – than…
Chris Jericho’s Thanksgiving Thank You Celebrashon For Le Champion!
Yes, the full name of this segment was too unwieldy and lengthy for even my headlines…
Last week, Chris Jericho announced this bash and made several flippant promises that probably won’t come true. I don’t necessarily expect a shark-filled aquarium, but I suppose nothing is impossible. Still, one can expect a decadent celebration – or celebrashon if you prefer – from the AEW World Champion, as he makes his return to the venue where he was initially crowned to begin with.
Whether this is meant to occur before or after his title defense against Scorpio Sky is unclear, though I’d expect to see it in the first hour, with the title match headlining the second. It would be very much like Jericho however to be so arrogant as to schedule something like this after a title defense.
Anyway, this event is of course taking place on the week of Thanksgiving. It’s also seemingly the culmination of Jericho’s year long angle in which he’s demanded a thank you from everyone involved in or a fan of AEW. Ever since it’s inception, Jericho has taken credit for it’s birth, it’s sell-outs, it’s PPV buys and getting a deal with TNT, just to name a few things.
An interruption of some sort seems inevitable for something this egomaniacal, though undoubtedly all of the Inner Circle will be there so that’d be quite the risk…
