AEW Dark continues, with Tony and Dasha giving us the rundown of AEW’s upcoming schedule. And now, we have our Falls Count Anywhere match, which I’m a tad surprised is not the main event! Kip Sabian takes on Joey Janela in what might be a blowoff match!
Kip Sabian vs. Joey Janela (Falls Count Anywhere)
As Sabian is making his entrance, Janela sneaks up behind him on the stage and nails him with a low blow, a callback to Ford doing the same to him weeks ago! He looks Ford right in the eye before rolling him up, the bell rings and the ref makes a 2 count until Penelope breaks it up! Ford confronts Joey, kicks off the Entrance Tunnel for a Lucha Arm Drag, putting Joey in position for a running big boot from Sabian! Hoists him up onto his shoulders and does a little Airplane spin, clipping Ford with the boot of Janela!
As Kip checks on her, Joey gets him with a double axe handle from behind and knocks him down the ramp! Keeps him towards the top though, slamming him into the barricades! Gets him onto his shoulders, Kip escapes and shoves him away – Ford with a crossbody off the stage takes Janela to the floor! Kip takes the advantage and pulls him through the crowd, but a thrust kick from Janela takes him down! Ford wants a Handspring Back Elbow but Janela evades it and she ends up slamming into the stands!
Janela tries to make his way back to Sabian but he was hiding behind a partition, comes atop it for a flying senton, landing on his feet and taking out Janela! Drags him deeper through the crowd, and eventually into ringside where he tosses him into the steps before throwing him into the ring. Inverted Russian Legsweep into a complicated submission hold. Fujiwara Armbar, Octopus Stretch and a Heel Hook all at once, Janela rolls from the mat to the floor to break it! Gets some chops. Takes him back over the barricade! Drapes him atop it, running knee to the face! Now they’re brawling up the stairs.
Someone hands Joey a water bottle, he smacks him with it and sends the water flying! Tosses him back into ringside! Goes atop the barricade and leaps off, but Sabian tosses the chair into his face! Sets up the chair and sits Janela onto it, charges for an Inverted Senton but Janela avoids it and Sabian crashes hard on the metal seat! Someone hands Janela their prosthetic leg! He sits Sabian on the chair and gets him with a charging swing of the boot! He’s nice enough to hand it back afterwards too!
The Bad Boy pulls a table out from under the ring, Ford stops him. Janela nonetheless manages to set it up. Pulls Sabian up onto the apron, hoists him onto his shoulders, Sabian escapes behind him, German Suplex on the apron! With a bridge, it’s a cover!! Nearfall! Not sure I’ve seen a cover on the apron before! Sabian drapes Janela’s legs on the top rope, into a Twisting Powerslam through the table! Nearfall!!! “This Is Awesome” chant as Sabian smacks Janela with a piece of table! Ford and Kip take out a second table and set it up, then a third!
Janela struggles to his feet, Kip tosses him into the ring. Wants to suplex him through both! Joey fighting it. Ford is moving one of the tables to make sure it stays where the fight goes. Janela with a charging elbow, Kip struggling to keep a hold of the top rope. Ford up top as Janela hits the ropes again, mid-charge Ford gets him with a flying rana! Shoulder thrust in the corner, backwards roll, he sends her to the apron but gets a slap! Ford up top, crossbody but Janela rolls through and hangs on! Hoists her up in Military Press position and tosses him into Sabian! They both fall and nail the tables but neither of them break! That looked so painful! Janela then pulls out a kendo stick and swings it powerfully onto his shoulder, cover for the win!

Hot damn, physical stuff. Brutal spot at the ending there, really shocking that wasn’t the main event but hey. If that was the blowoff, it was a worthy one. By the way, Penelope Ford may be one of the most underrated workers in all of AEW, I really hope she becomes more of a force in the women’s division soon.
