Another episode of AEW Dynamite is coming to us tonight and you can expect the same coverage as always. Below you will see the results of the show plus links to recaps of each segment.
Segment 1: In the opening segment, they announce the latter half of the TNT Championship Tournament bracket. It will see Kip Sabian take on Dustin Rhodes, and Colt Cabana going up against Lance Archer. This is funny because it leaves a couple of fitting potential semis on the table. Then in the opening contest, Kenny Omega took on Trent. They didn’t hold back, putting on a battle that went throughout the empty arena. Trent nearly went the distance with a 20-minute draw, but with merely a minute remaining, Kenny got the victory with a One Winged Angel.
Segment 2: Next up, Hikaru Shida took on Anna Jayy, a special guest and trainee of QT Marshall. They did end up having a fairly competitive match however, which included Britt Baker at ringside baiting Shida into getting into her face for a moment. Shida eventually got the victory, then confronted Baker again, kicking the barrier towards her.
Segment 3: We see a vignette hyping up the upcoming AEW World Championship match between Jon Moxley and Jake Hager. It’s given a No Holds Barred stipulation and announced to be going down two weeks from now.
Segment 4: In a truly incredible debut match, Lance Archer took on Marko Stunt. It was of course an immense size differential and made for an amazing squash match as Archer tossed him all across the ring and all across ringside at well. Archer naturally got the win in impressive fashion, attacking tons of people at ringside in the process.
Segment 5: Brodie Lee runs down underlings for not saying his name right and yawning in his presence. In their Dynamite debut as a team, the Natural Nightmares – Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall – take on two Dark Order underlings called 8 & 9. They get a pretty easy victory, afterwards Brodie Lee emerges and attacks the man who got pinned.
Segment 6: Chris Jericho has a special vignette running down the Elite, where he again ends up confronting Vanguard 1. Matt Jackson tries to help his injured brother Nick get back into ringshape.
Segment 7: In the main event, Darby Allin and Cody teamed up to take on Shawn Spears and Sammy Guevara in a preview of the TNT Championship tournament first round. Darby and Cody had some miscommunication issues, in the end Darby pulled a chair away from Spears as he was about to nail Cody with a chair, but this distraction allowed Spears to roll Darby up and get the victory!
