AEW Dark rolls on and now we’ve got tag team action. Once again Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler are gonna give it the ‘ol college try as they take on Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt of the Jurassic Express! Peter tries to kick the die as he rolls it again but this time Cutler was ready for it and he pulled it out fo the way, got the dice roll in this time! No zoom-in though so I’m not sure how high the initiative is.
Peter Avalon & Brandon Cutler vs. Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus & Marko Stunt)
Marko starts with Avalon. Marko is wearing Luchasaurus’ shin shields and they’re thigh-highs for him. Lucha tags in when Avalon isn’t paying attention and he’s quite terrified to see him. He ducks a roundhouse kick, slips between the legs, ducks a Polish Hammer, springboard double axe handle attempted but Lucha catches him out of the air, Ripcord Knife Edge Chop! Avalon scrambles over and tags in Cutler. Brandon stands toe-to-toe with him, not showing the same fear. Ducks a shot, waistlock. Lucha escapes, takes him to the corner. Cutler slips to the apron, high kick to the face! Wants a pullover enziguri but Lucha backs away to avoid it!
Lucha growls, gets taken to the corner though, Cutler over the top of him, escapes a stomp and slips to the floor. Lucha wants to grab him by the hair and pull him in but he has none! Cutler slaps his hand away, high kick to the head, goes for a Springboard but Lucha stops him with a chop out of the air! Tosses him to the corner, big punches, uppercut sends him sprawling to the mat! Irish Whip, thrust kick for a 2 count! Cutler on his way up gets him with a second attempt enziguri! Wants a whip but Lucha blocks it by being large, headbutt, Front Suplex, Wheelbarrow German! Tag to Marko, Lucha throws him into a senton for a nearfall! Cutler kicks him to the corner and wants a tag but Marko dives to grab his leg, yells “I’ve got him!” even as Cutler drags him across the ring and tags Avalon!
Peter has to pull Stunt off of him, wants a wheelbarrow but Stunt with an arm drag out of the air, dropkick, Springboard Headscissors, dropkick! Goes up top, Leva Bates just stands there and waves to distract him, Marko waves back. Avalon tosses him off the top rope! Mounts him and pounds him! Avalon takes him to his corner, Cutler tags in. Avalon wants a double team but Cutler just shoves him away, doesn’t wanna cheat. Gets Marko up into the Torture Rack for a bit, tosses him to the mat and covers for 2. Cutler and Avalon bicker, Marko with a chop to the gut as he tries to fight up. Cutler hoists him up for a Gorilla Press but Marko escapes with a wicked rana! Still Cutler takes over, tag to Avalon who comes in and just stomps him into the mat! Attacks Lucha but fails to actually take him off the apron, funnily. Avalon whips, Marko ducks, Tilt-A-Whirl DDT! Avalon has that glassy-eyed look after that one! Stunt tags in, Lucha throws both men around, push kick to Avalon, meaty chop to Cutler! Blocks a shot from Avalon, high knee into a roundhouse kick!
Cutler charges but gets Pancaked, Lucha with a backhand to Avalon, spin kick to the face of Cutler! Hoists Avalon up, Extinction Level Event! Now the goozle, Cutler pulls Avalon free but this starts a shoving match! Lucha with a double goozle, they block the chokeslam and hit a double dropkick though it doesn’t take him down! Marko off the top wit ha crossbody but they catch him and toss him right over to Lucha but he catches him as well! And he tosses him into a crossbody that wipes them both out! Tag to Marko for an Assisted Splash to Avalon for a nearfall! Lucha tags in, wants another tandem move but Avalon with a kick to Marko and enziguri to Lucha, Swinging DDT for a nearfall! Peter goes up top, Lucha goozles him though! Goes to the second rope, Avalon rakes the eyes – Sunset Flip Powerbobm?! Tag to Cutler, Springboard Elbow Drop, Avalon assists on the cover but he still kicks out!
Tags in Avalon, Lucha avoids the running kick, backflip, hook kick to Avalon, Roundhouse to Cutler! He grabs Cutler by the throat, Cutler with right hands. Drags him to the buckle, rising knee strikes! But Cutler grabs a wrist and pulls him to the top rope! Marko with a Springboard Hip Toss from this position and yes, that’s what I’m calling it! Was pretty wild to watch. Lucha wants an Electric Chair on Avalon but he Victory Rolls for a 2 count. Lucha with a roundhouse kick lays him out, Marko with a Tail Whip! He then struggles to hoist him up, Lucha has to give him the assist, chokeslam! Luchasaurus with a Standing Moonsault and Marko sits atop the back to help the cover, that’s that!
Winner: Jurassic Express
Fun stuff, honestly Cutler and Avalon lasted way longer than expected there. The desperation to win was really palpable actually.
