AEW Dark continues and we’ve got ourselves a tag team match as Musa is once again in tag team action, this time paired up with Brady Pierce who makes sure we all see his bright smile. They have to face Santana and Ortiz of Proud-N-Powerful tonight. Funnily enough, as pointed out on commentary, Musa was actually part of Mike Tyson’s entourage on his Dynamite appearance. That’s sure to have drawn the ire of Le Champion’s loyal Inner Circle members.
Musa & Brady Pierce vs. Proud-N-Powerful
Santana clearly wanted Musa to start the match and he is indeed in there first, but funnily it’s against Ortiz. Ortiz with a waistlock, turns it into a wristlock, snapmare. Roll through with a headbutt to the midsection! Maintains wrist control as he takes him down. Musa with a waistlock, reversed. But another switch. Ortiz slips behind him and there’s the back rake, whip to the ropes for a lariat! Ortiz takes out a glove and slides it on, nails him with a punch to the face. Ortiz with a whip, Musa escapes to the apron, shoulder thrust, flips over the back of Ortiz, but as he rushes Ortiz gets him up and plants him with a Powerbomb! Then he rolls him through for a cheap shot kick from Santana! Brady comes in to try and help but he gets back body dropped to the floor and Santana wipes them both out with a plancha! Chops Musa, throws him into the ring.
Ortiz hangs Musa up on the ropes, as he prepares a Hangman’s Cutter, Santana caps it off with a double footstomp to the back! Helluva combo move. Santana gets in the face of Pierce now and dares him to come to help his partner. Pierce is also jaw jacking with Ortiz from opposite corners because you can do that in an empty arena, and he amazingly convinces them to let Musa make the tag so he can mix it up with Santana! Santana ducks a shot, leg kick leads to a dropkick to the side of the head! Ortiz tags in, wants a double whip, Pierce blocks this but a series of chops backs him up.
Pierce fights his way out of a corner, but a Moonsault Press misses! Ortiz with a smack to the face, tag to Santana. They power him up to the top rope, Musa tries to come in but gets a double enziguri that sits him against the corner. Pierce in the Tree Of Woe just over him, Cannonball from Santana crushes them both! Creative stuff. Street Sweeper actually slams Musa onto Pierce and that’s the finish!
Winners: Proud-N-Powerful
Not that it’s a surprise, but that was a particularly dominant beating there. I do feel like Santana and Ortiz have cooled a decent bit over the past several months but they’re still a fantastic tag team and I’m sure they’ll bounce back.
