AEW Dark is just about done as we have but the main event left to cover and it should be a good one as Scorpio Sky takes on Robert “Ego” Anthony. As Anthony comes out Taz mentions how Anthony insulted him and Cage on Twitter due to his relation to Jon Moxley.
Scorpio Sky vs. Robert Anthony
Anthony with a waistlock. Scorpio with a wristlock to escape but Anthony reverses, Scorpio with a waistlock into a full nelson, switch from Anthony but Scorpio with a hammerlock until Anthony grabs his head to spin out of it, waistlock takeover and a facelock applied! Scorp grabs the arm and spins free, Anthony drives him into the corner, clean break and they face off. The crowd is way behind Scorpio and both wrestlers seem to have fun with this. Anthony with a hammerlock and takes him down, Scorpio tries to headlock his way out of that but Anthony flips right back into the hammerlock. Scorpio springs to his feet, uses the ropes to flip through into a roll-up for a 2 count!
Hammerlock, Scorpio reverses as the chain wrestling continues. Headlock, Anthony shoots him off but Sky takes him down with a shoulder block, cover for a 1 count. Anthony takes him into the corner, as he discusses with the ref he surprises Sky with a back elbow, first bit of bending the rules in the match. Scorpio explodes out of the corner with a corner, leaping back elbow for a 1 count! Scorpio with a snapmare to set him up for a charging kick but Anthony rushes it, Tilt-A-Whirl Facebuster for a nearfall! Grinds the boot on the neck of Scorpio in the corner. Pulls him out, elbow to the back of the head. And another one!
Sky fights back with body shots, hits the ropes but a Polish Hammer stops that, Anthony covers for 2! Rear chinlock, pulls him up into the corner, knife edge chop! Follows up with a few forearms to the face, snapmare and a boot rake! He listens for the crowd, clearly playing the heel at this point. Head and arm clutch, Scorpio fights his way to his feet, gets the break and hits the ropes for a couple of clotheslines. Anthony reverses a whip but Sky stops the Back Body Drop attempt with a double footstomp to the back! Scorpio evades an arm drag, beautiful dropkick for a nearfall!
Scorpio waits for him to rise, hoists him onto his shoulders, Anthony escapes this and hoists him up himself, Sky fights out of it, hits the ropes but Anthony gets him up there again for a Death Valley Driver for a clooose nearfall, Anthony is shocked! Takes him up to his feet, hooks for a suplex but Sky reverses into a cradle for a 2 count! Back elbow off a charge, leg kick, knife edge chop! Whip into the corner reversed, Anthony with a charging back elbow, hits the ropes but Sky stops him with a charging big boot! TKO follows and there’s the match!
Winner: Scorpio Sky
Solid main event, it’s kinda cool to see a match that’s made up almost entirely of chain wrestling as this one was and they both proved quite proficient.
