There’s a new tag team in the mix with AEW, that being Max Caster & Anthony Bowens, The Acclaimed. They’ve established themselves on AEW Dark, but now are making their in-ring debut on Dynamite. After gunning for The Young Bucks following their recent match with TH2, they were stopped by SCU. They don’t get the current champs, but beating the first ever AEW World Tag Team Champions definitely will boost their stock.
A pre-match rap battle somehow saw The Acclaimed lose, as Kazarian compared them to Men on a Mission and said their whole act, much like 2020 was the shits. Their rap mainly just called Daniels old and made fun of Kazarians hair plugs, while Kazarian went right for the kill. Not a good look for The Acclaimed, but a good match can save the night.
SCU Are Still A Top Team
Bowens would start by missing a punch on Kazarian before being caught with a headlock takeover. Kazarain caught him out of the sky as he got moving with a northern lights suplex, before Daniels was tagged in. SCU would batter him with a combo of strikes, but Bowens got a back body drop and tagged Caster in. Daniels got right back after a dropkick, before throwing Bowens into the boots of Kazarian.
Daniels hit an elbow drop before a leg drop from Kazarian. Bowens tagged in and was taken right down with an arm drag before dumping Kazarian to the outside. He’d throw a punch at Caster, before being run into the ring post. Finally, they gained control and had a chance to show why they are ranked #5 and have a seven match win streak.
The pace was slowed down, and Kazarian had his neck attacked in the middle of the ring with submission and kicks. They weren’t able to put the veteran away, before he’d fire up and make a comeback by fighting out of the corner, getting to the apron and hitting a slingshot DDT.
The Acclaimed Show Their Worth
Daniels would be tagged in to oppose Bowens, and hit some clothesline before having to take Caster out. A big blue thunder bomb to Bowens got a near fall, before setting up Angels Wings and failing. Instead he set up B.M.E before Caster again got involved. Bowens took advantage and set up top, but he shoved off and Daniels got a crossbody.
A boombox to the face from Caster as the referee was distracted by Bowens would rock Daniels, and Bowens finished it out with a spinning suplex. This puts them to an 8 match win streak, and we could see them go after those AEW Tag Team Championships very soon. They’d challenge The Bucks, and they accepted for next week.
