Last week at AEW Beach Break, the rules of the game were changed after the main event which saw Kenny Omega & Good Brothers claim victory. Let’s waste no time in getting into what happened, and what that means for everyone this week on AEW Dynamite.
Kenny Omega & KENTA Team Up To Take On Lance Archer & Jon Moxley
Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers were able to best Jon Moxley & Death Triangle, before KENTA from NJPW made his AEW debut, laying out Jon Moxley. That has become the talk of the wrestling world, and tonight it just gets better. KENTA & Kenny Omega team up to face Lance Archer & Jon Moxley in a Falls Count Anywhere match. This is the first time a fully NJPW contracted star shows up in a match on AEW Dynamite, a sign of things to come from two of the biggest companies in the game today.
The AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament Begins
Finally, the AEW Women’s division comes full circle, as we get to see what they can do with some actual spotlight on them. 16 women from both American & Japan will battle it out in a tournament similar to the one that brought Kenny Omega to the AEW Worlds Championship back in December. It starts tonight with ‘Legit’ Leyla Hirsch taking on Thunder Rosa, in what should be a great match.
We can also hope to see a bit more information on what AEW World Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida is up to in Japan, and maybe find out how the matches from that side of the bracket will be displayed.
Chris Jericho & MJF Take On The Acclaimed
Last week, MJF & Chris Jericho won the battle royale to decide who faces The Young Bucks at Revolution, potentially earning them the AEW World Tag Team Championships. However, first they have a bone to pick with Max Caster & Anthony Bowens in The Acclaimed, after they interrupted the entrance of MJ & Jericho last week.
A win here for The Acclaimed could have major implications for Revolution, and could turn the tag team championship match on that night into a triple threat. Bowens & Caster are huge potential stars for AEW, and we might see MJF & Jericho overlook that potential tonight.
Ryan Nemeth Is Back, Will Face PAC
Anytime we get to see PAC in singles action is a noteworthy event, as he always shows why he has a reputation as one of the best wrestlers in the world today. Tonight, he faces Ryan Nemeth, who had an alright showing against Hangman Page recently, and impressed enough people to be brought back for another match.
Also announced is Cody Rhodes & Lee Johnson taking on Peter Avalon & Cezar Bonini in tag team action. Darby Allin will defend the TNT Championship against Joey Janella. What are you most excited for tonight on AEW Dynamite? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
