AEW is putting a lot of stock into Jade Cargill, and for good reason. She’s proven to be an absolute beast, but that will only get her so far. Another big prospect comes in her opponent and main rival, Red Velvet. Velvet has more experience, and if Cargill overlooks her tonight, that’ll be that. Last night on AEW Dark, Cargill attacked Velvet who was in a tag team match, showing that this one is gonna be a brawl.
Jade Cargill Enters Her Fourth Match Ever
They picked up right where they left off, Velvet hitting first with some clubbing blows before Cargill nailed a pump kick. Velvet hit a dropkick into the corner, but was taken up with the pumphandle bomb. Cargill couldn’t complete the move, before taking a superkick to the face. Velvet sent her to the outside, and nailed a Tope, sending Cargill into the barricade.
Cargill struck back and tossed Velvet into the barricade, before picking her up and throwing her overhead into the crowd. Velvet would be brought back into the ring with a suplex, before being kicked into the corner and choked. Referee Aubrey Edwards did her best to break this up, before Velvet was just thrown across the ring.
Red Velvet Gets Dropped
Cargill would set up a German Suplex, but Velvet landed on her feet only to walk into a Blue Thunder Bomb. Velvet would fight back to her feet and hit a spinning roundhouse kick to send Cargill onto the ropes. Cargill slipped out and looked for a spear into the corner, crashing hard.
Velvet dropped Cargill with a running lariat, before the wheelbarrow bulldog before hitting the standing moonsault after stirring it up. The moonsault off the top didn’t work out for Velvet, and she’d be dropped on her face with Jaded. This ends the undefeated streak of Velvet in singles matches in 2021, and shows that Jade is not someone to mess with.
