Tonight on Impact Wrestling: Rebellion, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Impact Wrestling World Champion are putting all the gold on the line. It’s champion vs. champion, and also winner takes all. This is hands down the biggest main event that Impact Wrestling has held in years, with a lot of eyes on the product because of it. However, AEW might be sending a fix just to make sure that Omega doesn’t lose the AEW World Title. That fix, being AEW referee, Aubrey Edwards.
Aubrey Edwards Is In A Private Jet
In a post to Twitter, Aubrey Edwards showed a picture of her catching a flight on a private jet with the caption: “Live fast. Die young. Bad girls do it well.” These are lyrics from Bad Girl by M.I.A and seem to indicate that Aubrey could be playing a heel role in the coming AEW vs. Impact Wrestling Championship match.
It hasn’t been outright confirmed that she is heading to the Impact Wrestling PPV, but considering AEW have been filling the heel role in this storyline on Impact Wrestling? Having their most respected referee show up to potentially fill in for a fallen referee could be the type of swerve AEW needs in their back pocket.
The Nashville Screwjob Could Be Coming
With the stakes so high for this match, both companies are going to be doing everything possible to ensure things go their way. Kenny Omega might be one of the best big match wrestlers of all time, but overlooking Rich Swann is a good way to get dropped in record time. Omega might be buying into his own hype a bit much, so Tony Khan sent in a extra aspect to ensure things don’t go wrong, and the AEW World Heavyweight Title ends up on an Impact Wrestling talent.
If we see Aubrey Edwards hit the ring during this historic main event, we can expect some level of bias towards Omega in the process. We could even see an outright screwjob against Swann, with her overlooking a cheap shot from the Elite or doing a fast count on a pinfall.
