The star, who had forged such a strong connection with the fans, will no longer be returning as a host. Although that has presented Chris with the chance to explore further opportunities, given that he is not tied up by the show’s demanding schedule, there is still the feeling that he did not walk away on his own terms.
A source told Us Weekly: “The whole situation is frustrating for him. Until things are settled legally and contractually, he can’t even plan his next steps.” But just as he has been feeling disappointed, the news does have a positive side. Chris has been inundated with offers to host other shows, and he will have the additional benefit of being able to command a higher salary.
After all, his profile has skyrocketed since the Rachael Kirkconnell saga. Chris, by all accounts, is looking to create further memories. The source added: “He has a team who has been supporting him this entire time and is working on his next move. He’s hosted other shows in the past, so safe to say this isn’t the end of Chris Harrison hosting!”
So what made Chris decide to leave? Well, it seems the show had enough of him. Despite his popularity, they wanted to move in a different direction. As such, they did not consult him on some of the changes they were going to implement. Therefore, it made no sense for Chris to return and see his role diminished.
The source continued: “Chris had been left in the dark over a lot of behind-the-scenes franchise decisions.” The show will have to move quickly to fill Chris’ void. The reaction on social media has been very negative. Fans have suggested that they will not be tuning into the show anymore because of Chris’ absence.
One fan wrote: “Chris is so loved by strangers. we all need a Man in our life… won’t be watching that show anymore.” The future of the franchise hangs in the balance, and the producers will have to make sure that the next host delivers the goods.
