The Armourer Who Worked On ‘Rust’ Had Reportedly Angered Nicolas Cage-‘You Just Blew My F***ing Eardrums Out’
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed had apparently gotten into an exchange with the Hollywood actor when they worked on the film ‘The Old Way.’ According to reports, Hannah had did not follow the protocols on using weapons on set.
The main grievance that occurred was that it is alleged she fired a gun on two occasions without giving adequate warning to the others who were on set.
Stu Brumbaugh, who happened to be a key grip on the film with Nicolas, told The Wrap the following: “[Hannah] upset both Cage and other crew members on the Montana production by failing to follow basic gun safety protocols like announcing the arrival and usage of weapons onto the set.”
So how did Nicolas react to it all? Well, as could be expected, he was not very pleased. And he made sure that he let Hannah know exactly what he felt about it all.
According to Stu, the actor said the following comments: “[Nicholoas yelled] Make an announcement, you just blew my f***ing eardrums out!” Then, he stormed off.”
If these claims are true, then it does raise serious concerns for the following reasons. First of all, Hannah worked on this film around two months before she went on Rust. Therefore, if there were serious concerns, then why was this not picked up.
Secondly, Hannah was allegedly the one who was the armourer on Rust. As such, there is going to be a lot of scrutiny coming her way. Despite all this, a producer who had worked on ‘The Old Way’ downplayed this: “I have no such recollection of this event on our set.
“I asked my partners the same. The details on some of these accounts, specifically when it pertains to The Old Way, have been blown out of proportion.”
This story has thrown another spanner in the works over just how much the safety of everyone may have been neglected. And with the authorities looking into the matter, there is a feeling that there is more to come from this story.
