Hollywood actor Jared Leto has opened up on the rumours that he had sent his co-stars on Suicide Squad inappropriate gifts.

Jared is no stranger when it comes to controversy in this regard. He had been accused of sending them ‘used condoms’ and ‘anal beads.’
And given the fact that he was playing the ‘Joker’ from the Batman storyline, this action just added to the uneasiness that his role had been known for.
And yet, he denied that he was responsible for doing such things. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said: “99.9 percent of what people read is bullsh*t. There were no used condoms.”
Nevertheless, he did not deny sending gifts. But Jared sought to clear up the rationale behind it. Rather than it being a disturbing thing, he felt that it was all part of the character (Joker) that he was portraying.
In an attempt to get that personality on screen, he had to do things that would otherwise be deemed unsavoury. He stated: “Any of the very few gifts that were ever given were given with a spirit of fun.
“I’m playing a guy called the Joker. It’s OK to play some jokes. Nothing ever crossed any lines.” Having said that, though, a certain subset of people felt that Jared should have faced some consequences for his actions.
The response on social media was one of condemnation. One fan wrote: “That’s amazingly fucked up,” while another stated: “Jared’s delightfully messed up.”
But by staying true to his character, Jared had the last laugh. He did not care whether people were offended by it, and by all accounts, he had no regrets over what he had done.
The only shame from it was the fact that his performance in the film was criticised. But this is what he had to say about that: “I’m an artist at the end of the day.
“If I do something risky and you don’t like it, basically, you can kiss my a**.” Jared certainly knows how to get a reaction. Unluckily for him, it was a bad one.
