Elektra Lopez has proven herself to be a major threat to all who oppose Legado Del Fantasma. She’s got a claim to being one of the most powerful women in NXT 2.0, in both physical and position on the brand. Tonight, she will once again prove her power she will enter the ring – and perhaps show why Mandy Rose needs to keep an eye out. Also, Xyon Quinn needs to keep an eye on her, for other reasons.

Before we get to this, we’d catch up with Tony D’Angelo who has a match with Dexter Lumis next week. He handed Indi Hartwell a dead fish, saying to let Lumis sleep with that instead. That should be a good test for Tony in NXT. He’s stolen the hearts of fans for his character based antics, but this is a chance to deliver in the ring with a proper opponent.

Elektra Lopez Sends Some Clear Messages, NXT: War Games Confirmed

Erica Yen would be the opponent of Lopez, and Yen would start off fast and send Lopez into the corner. She’d catch Lopez with an arm drag, but the second was blocked with sheer power and a strong footing. Yen would be slapped across the face, before being nailed with a nasty Blue Thunder Bomb. This one closed with a bang, and now Lopez had some mic time left.

She wanted Xyon Quinn to come out and see her, after being impressed by his dance moves last week. He’d answer the call, and hit the ring. Quinn turned the head of Lopez last week, and now has an offer to join Legado Del Fantasma. He’d call Lopez amazing, but can’t get down with the faction she’s involved with.

Mendoza & Wilde would attack him, but this was a mistake as he took out both in quick order. Lopez went for some slaps, but Quinn neutralized her with ease. They’d pace around the ring, before Quinn made his way to the back. Beth Phoenix called in sexual tension on commentary, and was asked to keep things professional. It’s InDex all over again.

After this, we would get confirmation of the first PPV since NXT 2.0 rebrand – WARGAMES IS INCOMING! Sunday, December 5th brings NXT: WarGames. Notable by its absence – the Takeover branding, which might be gone now.

Is Pete Dunne Still The Baddest Man In NXT?

Pete Dunne is in an odd space nowadays in NXT 2.0. He’s a member of the old guard of the brand, yet isn’t even 30 years old. No longer does he have help from the likes of Ridge Holland, as he’s been called up to Smackdown Live without him. After a bit of a confrontation with Carmelo Hayes earlier in the night would set up a path back to a championship picture with a huge singles main event.

Hayes would get the expected mixed reaction from the crowd. He recently claimed that veterans like Dunne should kiss his ass, which was enough to bring the anger of the Bruiserweight out. Dunne would start off fast with his signature joint manipulation, bending and stomping the fingers.

The arm was kicked, and clearly Hayes spent more time talking trash than he did scouting. Hayes would take things to the outside, where he would take an X-Plex onto the apron. Lumis was hanging out on commentary suddenly, and would stare down Trick Williams to terrify him as a commercial break came and went.

Pete Dunne Gets A Little Help

Back to the action, Dunne would have Hayes tied up on the floor. He’d move from limb to limb, breaking Hayes down. Hayes made a comeback with a massive codebreaker, turning Dunne inside out. Dunne would be able to kick out, and would come back with a big enziguri, Hayes was taken out of the sky with a forearm, but a suplex was countered into a cutter.

Dunne would be locked into the Gargano Escape, a slap to the face of Johnny Gargano. However, Dunne survives the real version fine, let alone the Great Value version. Hayes would throw Dunne into the ropes, and Williams wanted a cheapshot, with Lumis shutting him down. A gloved hand reached up to grab the foot of Hayes, and it was Gargano of course – who helped Dunne nail the bitter end for the win.

A very good main event, given the talent of both men. As far as the new school goes – Hayes is an absolute in-ring machine, and Dunne’s name speaks for itself. A messy finish, but a very fun match. Match Rating: 3/5 (***)
