It has been a series of good news for Rihanna, who recently gave birth to her first child with ASAP Rocky. The 34-year-old singer is reported to have surpassed Kim K as she is ranked as America’s youngest self-made billionaire woman.
Rihanna Becomes Youngest Self-made Billionaire At 34
While Rihanna is a successful singer, the majority of her financial growth has been from her other forms of business. The Barbados native is the co-owner of Fenty Beauty with LVMH (a French retailer). She also owns 30% of the lingerie brand—Savage X Fenty. Last year in August, Rihanna reached billionaire status and was on the Forbes list, making her the first person ever from Barbados to be on the list.

According to Forbes, her Fenty Beauty business line generated more than $550 million in revenue as at 2020, and Savage X Fenty was valued at $1 billion in February 2021. Forbes also put Rihanna’s score as a self-made billionaire at 10, which is a score that is usually given to those who “need to have been born into poverty or the lower middle class, and faced adversity such as abuse, being left an orphan, or being forced to work low-paying jobs.”
While the new mother might be the youngest billionaire on the list, there are other young women who have made the list, like Kylie Jenner with $600 million, Lucy Gup with $440 million, and Taylor Swift with $570 million. Rihanna has always served as an inspiration to many as a successful musician, businesswoman, and most certainly a mother.
Justin Sylvester, who was filling in for Jenna Hager on Wednesday’s episode of the Today with Hoda and Jenna show, spoke at length about Rihanna’s latest achievement. Sylvester made it clear that he considered Rihanna a smart businesswoman because she makes what people want. “People are always going to wear makeup and they’re always going to wear undies.”
He also mentioned that “that’s how she got it.” He added that the Fenty Beauty owner has once said that the talk about money makes her uncomfortable and she is willing to “give it to somebody and make other people’s lives better.”
