Halyna Hutchins’ husband Matthew Hutchins has blasted Alec Baldwin following the latter’s apparent failure to accept responsibility for the cinematographer’s death.

Alec, for his part, had been involved in a prop gun incident on the set of ‘Rust’ which led to Halyna’s death. Although an investigation is ongoing to determine whether or not Alec will be liable, the fact that he has had lawsuits filed as a result, demonstrates that people want him held accountable.
And for Matthew, he felt that Alec’s lack of remorse was something uncalled for. In an interview on the ‘Today Show’ he said: “Watching him, I just felt so angry.
“I was just so angry to see him talk about her death so publicly in such a detailed way and then to not accept any responsibility after having just described killing her.”
The primary reason why Matthew could not fathom Alec’s remarks was because of the increasing number of reports suggesting that protocols had not been followed on set.
And one such problem was the fact that live ammunition had made its way on set, which should not have happened. That is why Matthew questioned the actor’s reasoning.
He added: “The idea that the person holding the gun and causing it to discharge is not responsible is absurd to me. Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but it’s not me.”
The social media response was firmly in favour of Matthew. After all, he had lost his wife, as well as becoming a single father to their 9-year-old son.
Therefore, someone had to be held responsible in order for the family to get closure and put this behind them once and for all. One person wrote: “He has to live with the guilt for what he did for the rest of his life.
“He didn’t act unreasonably of what is expected from an actor shooting a scene with a firearm.” Regardless of what you think about Matthew’s comments, the fact of the matter is that he lost a loved one.
