Ireland Baldwin has taken a clear stance on the ongoing defamation trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp.
The daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger took to Instagram to express her thoughts after an explosive audio recording in which Amber Heard admits to hitting Johnny Depp was revealed in court.
Ireland Baldwin Brands Amber Heard: ‘A Disaster of a Human Being’ Amid Johnny Depp Trial
“The thing is, I know women who are exactly like this. They are manipulative and cold and they use their very womanhood to play victim and turn the world against the man because we live in a society where it’s cool to say men are the worst and blah blah f—ity blah,” Baldwin said.
Ireland Baldwin went on to assert that “men can experience abuse too” before declaring “this absolute disaster of a human being Amber Heard is a terrible person.”
After she was done slamming Heard, Baldwin shared her opinions on Johnny Depp, stating, “I hope Johnny gets his reputation and his life back. And I hope he’s in like 5 Pirates movies.”
Baldwin’s feelings on Amber Heard come after a crucial piece of evidence was presented in court. In audio that was recorded following an argument between Heard and Depp, Heard admits to being violent toward her then-husband. “You didn’t get punched; you got hit. I’m sorry I hit you like this, but I did not punch you. I
did not f—–g deck you. I f—–g was hitting you. I don’t know what the motion of my actual hand was. But you’re fine. I did not hurt you. I did not punch you. I was hitting you,” Heard was recorded saying.
I’m not sitting here b—hing about it, am I? You are. That’s the difference between me and you. You’re a f—–g baby. You are such a baby. Grow the f— up, Johnny,” Heard attested.
Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over a 2018 piece she wrote for The Washington Post where she claimed to have experienced domestic abuse at the hands of the actor. Heard is countersuing Depp to the tune of $100 million for defamation.
Depp’s lawyers argue that Heard’s slanderous accusations have had a profoundly negative impact on Depp’s career. Since her allegations were made public, Depp has been ousted from future productions of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise and was ousted from ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’.
Both parties have accused each other of abuse during the course of their tumultuous relationship, with bombshell audio recordings, video footage, text messages and witness testimony being major topics of controversy.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard began dating in 2012 after meeting on the set of ‘The Rum Diary’ a few years prior. They got married in 2015 only for Heard to file for divorce on May 23, 2016. Heard filed a temporary restraining order against Depp that same year and the former lovers have been going tit-for-tat in an ongoing legal dispute ever since.
