The internet has been buzzing about the possibility of Jeff Hardy going to AEW since his release from the WWE, and he came out and admitted it to Youtuber Jared Myers backstage at Jeff’s concert.
It’s the answer many of us expected as it’d give him greater freedom and his brother Matt’s there, but he also talked about more than just that in the interview.
It was really cool and interesting to see him clear the air and remove any doubt, while also being candid about WWE and his future.

AEW bound
Jeff wasted no time in telling Jared that: “I’m going to AEW. I’m so excited, until this morning I didn’t really know. I’m so nervous and excited.”
It’s music to many fans ears as his release struck a chord. A couple of month prior, fans were outraged that WWE had Jeff taking part in the 24/7 Championship chase and made their feelings known on social media.
The WWE listened and the next couple weeks were full of wrestlers saying how much he means to them and how great he was to lead up to a reported push for a top title.
But Jeff didn’t stop there as he also explained elaborated on his other thoughts and feelings, especially on going back and his feeling on how his release was handled.
“Hopefully yeah, I would love to go back. They released me and tried to make me go to rehab but I’m just so over it. My dream match was with Roman Reigns; I’ve talked about that many times but then I said, ‘So, you want me to go away for like 28 days just to save my job?’ No.
“You know what’s important to me? Family. My two daughters, my wife; they believe in me. F— WWE, man. It’s like a private, personal thing. I’m not going to f—ing go to rehab. If they believe in me, that’s all that matters, my wife and my two girls.”
It’s not a surprise that Jeff stood by his principles in this as he’s ben open about how much his family means to him and going to rehab when he tested negative would’ve put them through another wringer.
He’s refused to go previously and was fired for doing it, but every situation is different and he’s been vindicated for his choice when he got the test results back and shared them publicly.
It’s going to be fun seeing him in AEW and potentially teaming up with Matt to reform the Hardy Boyz. They always make things interesting and fun.
