The biggest show in wrestling is always Wrestlemania. It might not always have the best matches, but you can’t deny it’s spectacle. This makes the announcement of where it will be every year a very exciting event in it’s own right. Wrestlemania weekend has become an event in itself, with smaller companies booking shows in the same town in smaller venues. This year it takes place in Tampa, Florida. In 2021, Wrestlemania goes Hollywood once again.
Wrestlemania 21 Was Also In Hollywood
It has been sixteen years since Wrestlemania was in Hollywood, with the 21st event in it’s storied history taking place there. It was a notable event due to matches like the first ever Money In The Bank Ladder match, an instant classic between Kurt Angle & Shawn Michaels, and the first World Championship wins for both John Cena & Batista, who beat JBL & HHH respectively. The show was a changing of the guard in WWE, as they would push the company into a new era as the new top stars. Other matches on the card included Eddie Guerrero facing Rey Mysterio in the opener, the Legend Killer Randy Orton attempting to end the streak of The Undertaker, and Big Show vs. Akebono in the only sumo wrestling match in WWE history.
Will The Stars Be Out For This Event?
With Wrestlemania being the biggest wrestling show of the year, and it being in the home to most actors and major movie studios, we can reasonably expect some crossovers to occur. One very real possibility is that 2021 is the year that Dwanye The Rock Johnson gets inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. He announced that he has officially retired from Professional Wrestling to focus on his acting. The Rock would be the ideal headliner for the Class of 2021, especially as he is the most successful wrestler turned actor. The Rock was one of the biggest stars to come out of the Attitude Era. He is a Ten Time World Champion, along with many other accolades. It is not a matter of if he enters the hall of fame, just when.
