I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.

It’s safe to say that Jon Moxley had one hell of a week. First he showed up in Jacksonville at AEW Dynamite’s special Homecoming episode to face Trent in a one-on-one match. Then he took the flight to Tokyo for what turned out to be a wild weekend for him. He took on Lance Archer in a brutal Texas Deathmatch to regain the IWGP United States Championship. And then, the very next night, he defended the title against Juice Robinson. The feud dates back to Jon Moxley’s debut. Mox took the title from Juice initially, and in retaliation, Juice spoiled…

Over the past few years, master technical wizard Zack Sabre Jr has developed a bit of a pattern. He would frequently lose the RevPro British Heavyweight Championship to one of his many New Japan contemporaries, and then win it right back from them a few months later. He’s been trading this title back and forth instead of ever winning any of New Japan’s own native gold for his entire run. So it wasn’t crazy, atleast I don’t think so, to assume that when he came into Wrestle Kingdom 14 with the gold, he was liable to lose it once again…

Ultimately, Roppongi 3K came out victories, and thus became 4 time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. This ties them for second place all-time alongside -…

Ladies and gentlemen, Jushin Liger has now officially retired. In the first match of Wrestle Kingdom 14’s main card, Jushin Liger teamed with his most longstanding Naoki Sano against famed modern day rivals Hiromu Takahashi and Ryu Lee. This was the second of the genuine legend’s two retirement matches, the first occurring the night before, an eight-man tag team match littered with a plethora of famous names from Liger’s past. Emotions were running high, and it was easy to want to see one last Liger victory. But it’s the way things work around here that you go out on your…

In the opening match on Night 2 of Wrestle Kingdom 14, during the pre-show, a gauntlet match was held in which five teams of three competed for the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships. The match saw Los Ingobernables de Japon – represented by Bushi, Evil and Shingo Takagi – take the titles. They were by far the most high profile team in the match, so it’s not particularly surprising. The gauntlet order went as follows: Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi) & Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii, Yoshi-Hashi & Robbie Eagles) started the match. Chaos eliminated Bullet…
