I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.

Hey! WWE Starrcade is tonight! Did… did you know that? It’s true! There’s honest-to-God gonna be a show of that name on the WWE Network tonight! And it’s got a whole PPV card and everything! Looks like a lot of fun! But unfortunately we’re only set to get a fraction of it… yeah, of the seven matches taking place, we’re only seeing two of them. An hour’s worth of a three hour event. Just for completion’s sake, I feel compelled to give a bit of a preview of what’s to come for those live in attendance in Duluth, Georgia. Us…

Looks like a lot of fun! But unfortunately we’re only set to get a fraction of it… yeah, of the seven matches taking place, we’re only seeing two of them. An hour’s worth of a three hour event. Generally speaking, they have to have old WCW legends on these shows as a meager means of justifying the use of the name. (This in addition to…

But I did enough belly-aching about that in the first article, so let’s just dive into the preview of the other match that we have to look…

Looks like a lot of fun! But unfortunately we’re only set to get a fraction of it… yeah, of the seven matches taking place, we’re only seeing two of them. An hour’s worth of a three hour event. Why WWE have been doing this with Starrcade for the past couple of years when theoretically they could actually make a fairly big event out of this,…

The throughline of this past episode of WWE SmackDown centered around The Fiend Bray Wyatt asking Daniel Bryan if he wanted to play with him again. Thus we were left wondering Bryan’s response, and they continually cut to him to show his uncertainty. The idea was raised that wrestling the Fiend changes people, as has been seen in Finn Balor and Seth Rollins. This all as Bray Wyatt promised a ‘new face’ for the Firefly Funhouse tonight. That was seemingly answered ironically when they introduced a new version of the Universal title with the Fiend’s own face on it. However,…

Alexa Bliss has not been in the ring since WWE Hell In A Cell 2019, where she and Nikki Cross lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to the Kabuki Warriors. She’d seemingly suffered a mild injury that’s been keeping her out of action since then, about a month and a half on the shelf. Reports surfaced that she’d been dealing with a shoulder injury of some sort. But it seems she’s all healed up now. On tonight’s edition of WWE SmackDown, Alexa Bliss made her return. Nikki Cross defeated Sonya Deville in singles action, only to be jumped by…

Elias has been out of action ever since he was pulled from the King Of The Ring tournament in the summer due to a purported ankle injury. He’s been on the shelf since but posted a video last week proclaiming that a change was coming, teasing at his return. On tonight’s edition of WWE SmackDown, Elias did indeed make his return, though to relatively little fanfare. Never the less, he was seen backstage, claiming to have come back from much soul searching, and teasing Drake Maverick over trying to steal a kiss from Dana Brooke. You can see my original…

Tonight on WWE SmackDown, Bayley and Sasha Banks came out to run down their team’s failings at WWE Survivor Series this past weekend. Among those teammates was Lacey Evans, who the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley made special point to mock. Lacey Evans then emerged to square off with them. That confrontation didn’t go so well for the heels. Lacey Evans ended up laying out Sasha Banks with a Woman’s Right, and Bayley could only look on in dismay as she made her leave, triumphant. You can see an excerpt of my recap of this below: Lacey says she’s spent…

The New Day issued an open challenge for their WWE SmackDown Tag Team titles on tonight’s edition of SmackDown. As it turned out, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura were the ones to take them up on the challenge. This made for a pretty good, if sadly brief match. But to no one’s surprise, the titles did not change hands here. The New Day retained the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships over the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro. Kofi hit the Trouble In Paradise on Cesaro for the pin, immediately after manager Sami Zayn was ejected. You can see an excerpt…

The New Day issued an open challenge to the world, any team could’ve taken them up and challenged for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Among my predictions for this was a combination of Sami Zayn’s group – which includes WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro. Turns out that was correct. Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro were in fact led out by Sami Zayn to take them up on the challenge. The tag titles will be on the line against this fantastic team in what seems like tonight’s main event, and a potential great one. You can see my full…
