I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.

In the overwhelming news story for the day, it now appears that whatever issue keeping the vast majority of WWE’s main roster talent stuck in Saudi Arabia has apparently been dealt with. It’s been reported that they are fine, and will be making their way onto a plane in five hours – that of course was as of an hour ago at the time of writing. There’s still no word on what WWE intends to do on SmackDown as of now, though they have teased a chaotic episode and many have intimated that new folks will be getting opportunities. Obviously,…

So, hopefully I’ll be able to post an update on this shortly, as it is a still developing story. I contemplated waiting, but I do think we have now is still worth talking about… if you count this as still part of October, it’s another red line in the month-in-review for WWE. Basically, most of the crew as of the time of writing appears to still be in Saudi Arabia. There’s some sort of issue going on. I realize that’s as vague as one could get from a news story, but it’s what I have to tell as of now.…

This has been quite the whirlwind month for WWE, to say the absolute least. I’m gonna go ahead and recap it here just to highlight what a historic – in good ways and bad – month this October has been. Who knows? Might end up making a monthly feature out of this. Depends on how newsworthy the months are! Simple key; green text means good, red text means bad, with the dark yellow being a neutral. October 2nd – NXT goes head-to-head with the inaugural episode of AEW Dynamite. The first week of the Wednesday Night Wars. NXT attempted to…

Big news for WWE Survivor Series 2019 coming out of WWE Crown Jewel. Traditionally, during years where the brand extension is active, Survivor Series is known for it’s Raw vs. SmackDown brand warfare. Last year, Raw comically defeated SmackDown 7-1 in a series of interbrand matches. It was meant to be 8-0, but a weird snafu saw SmackDown’s team win on the Kickoff, so they opted to say the Kickoff didn’t really count and showed the score as 7-0. This humiliation was put on the brand largely to fuel Shane McMahon’s heel turn. This tradition has dated back to the…

Here’s a quick rundown of what went down at WWE Crown Jewel 2019. Humberto Carrillo won the 20-man battle royal to determine AJ Styles’ challenger for later in the night. Harper and Rowan teamed up during the match to clean house. The final four were Humberto, Cedric, Rowan and Harper. Rowan was the last one eliminated. Also R-Truth won the 24/7 title afterwards. Surprisingly, the WWE title match opened the main card. Brock Lesnar defeated Cain Velasquez to retain the WWE title. This was treated as a pure MMA match apparently, in which Lesnar reversed a ground and pound spot…

Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here, for back-to-back recaption! Not quite live here but I’mma be giving you the play-by-play on the replay of WWE NXT! Let’s get to it! New intro here from Poppy. She’s here with a live performance of it to ensure that nobody understands a single lyric. Live performances have sounded a lot worse though. Quality’s never gonna be perfect but this is pretty good. They then transition into a song for Io Shirai! It’s a pretty rad entrance! Poor Candice, her entrance feels really underwhelming after that. But we’re starting off with a kickass match-up!…

Hands are shaken, the brothers hug. Tony and Cody walk the tarmac as Tony says it’s more than just another match. They make their way into a limo. We see Mox rampaging through the hallway and he…

Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to preview the black-and-gold portion of the Wednesday Night Wars! There’s plenty on tap for tonight, so let’s not waste anytime; this is WWE NXT! Tyler Bate vs. Cameron Grimes These two had a fun confrontation last week, that saw Bate knock Grimes out and take the hat right off his head in the process! They wasted no time announcing this match afterwards, and I’m all for it. Sounds like a great athletic brawl to me! Bate’s probably the favorite, but Grimes has been pushed pretty well so don’t be shocked to see him…

Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here, and it’s Wednesday. You know what that means. That’s right, we got more previews, this time for AEW Dynamite! Slightly less matches than usual are being advertised for this one. I think this is for a few reasons. They want to put as much focus as they can on the tag title tournament final, which they’re pushing heavily at the expense of much else. The other is that I think they’re gonna start working in more promos and angles going forward. Even so there’s plenty to talk about, so let’s get to it! Jon…
