I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.

No one really saw it coming, but WWE have made it clear that the WWE King Of The Ring is back. And while it’s been a bit of a disappointment in it’s last few sporadic installments, both in terms of match quality and what it’s done for the careers of the winners, this one feels a little different. For starters, it’s being built up significantly more than I can recall last time with a stirring video package played on both Raw and Smack Down the week before. More notably, rather than the flash tourneys in the past, taking place…

For the last two weeks we’ve been keeping you up to speed on the high-production AEW Road To All Out series. You can catch recaps and analysis for Episodes 3 and 4 of AEW Road To All Out here and here respectively. This week, they went two-for-one, releasing two more episodes within the span of as many days. So let’s sink into it! AEW Road To All Out Episode 5: This episode begins with The Best Friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent Baretta sharing what may well be the world’s most dramatic hug. It featured the two of them in a…

– Since our last update on the first few episodes of AEW on TNT, much has been announced! First off, Shawn Spears will be facing Jon Moxley on on Episode 2, coming out of Boston, Mass. With only an appearance being announced for Episode 1, this will presumably be Moxley’s first match on TNT. It’s likely to be Spears’ first as well, given the stated policy of cycling out talent week-to-week. Both of these two will be coming off of major singles matches at All Out. Spears will be going up against Cody Rhodes whilst Moxley takes on Kenny Omega.…

Tonight, after months of speculation and cryptic messages, she’s finally back. Sasha Banks has made her return. She last appeared back at WrestleMania, where she and Bayley lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles to the IIconics in a four-way match. Long-time followers of the situation will know that Bayley and Sasha were intrinsic to the creation of the titles in the first place and building them up to be prestigious was important to them. So it was thought to be a big disappointment for them when they dropped them so quickly after being crowned the first champs, and the…

WWE SummerSlam 2019 is imminent, with the kickoff about to begin. Unfortunately I don’t have a preview to link to this time. While I was intending to do one, I kept holding off because of uncertainty over the show’s card. Looking at it, I’d be shocked if we don’t end up with last minute announcements here. In fact, yeah, I just took a peek and apparently a Women’s Title defense and an Apollo Crews/Buddy Murphy match have been added to the kickoff. So yeah stuff like that makes having a full preview difficult. But I’m still here for the live…

We’ve known for a while now that an AEW tag team title tournament is on the horizon. AEW Owner Tony Khan initially revealed this on his Steve Austin Show appearance back in June. He also let us know that it would be a heavily promoted part of the early month’s of AEW’s run on TNT when it began in October. There’s been plenty announced already for their debut episode, but now we know that this very tournament will begin on Week 2. Last night, The Young Bucks wrestled their final match at an independent show ahead of All Elite Wrestling’s…

Ladies and gentlemen, another TakeOver is upon us, this time it’s TakeOver: Toronto 2019. Yes, after a two year absence, the black and gold brand makes it’s return to Toronto. In spite of being pillaged with call-ups in recent months, in addition to key injuries already changing up plenty of longterm plans, NXT really hasn’t lost a step in my estimation. With just days to go before the show, let’s not waste any time and dive right into this. NXT TakeOver: Toronto 2019 Preview & Predictions Candice LaRae vs. Io Shirai Well first off… this will be a stellar…

It’s been milled about for some time, rumored you could say. But more in the context of something that was merely in consideration, never officially decided on. As we move closer to the suspected date however, things seem to have changed. Now it seems all but announced… per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT is now tentatively scheduled to begin airing live on FS1, every Wednesday from 8PM to 10PM. That’s presumably EST as is the norm. This is apparently far enough along now that those at FOX are letting their affiliates know about it. I don’t think that happens unless…

Bray Wyatt has had a bizarre career. That one isn’t a particularly hot take, is it? The guy debuted for WWE in the developmental days of FCW under the name Alex Rotundo, later Duke Rotundo. This is confusingly almost using his actual last name, Rotunda, with his father of course being Mike Rotunda or IRS. But of course that’s a hell of a lot better than having to call yourself Husky Harris, the name he was saddled with when he was placed on the original incarnation of NXT. Presumably this is because ‘Fat Fanning’ was already trademarked. He was impressive…
