I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
In a recent Instagram post, John Hennigan aka John Morrison, Johnny Impact and several other names, revealed that he was going in for stem cell treatments. He’s headed to Medellin, Columbia to work with a team called BioXcellerator, and receive treatment for his nagging injuries. He had the following to say on his Instagram page: “I’m excited to head to Medellin, Colombia, South America to receive according to my research safe and extremely advanced stem cell treatment for nagging injuries incurred over the last 18 years of making towns, bumping & feeding, & taking dudes to Slamtown orthopedic injury to…
While it’s part of this week’s SmackDown preview, this one certainly deserves it’s own page… Trish Stratus has been announced to appear on Tuesday’s broadcast. She will be joining Jerry Lawler in a special King’s Court interview segment. While nothing has been confirmed, rumor and speculation even before this announcement was that she may end up in a match with Charlotte at SummerSlam. WWE’s traditional August megashow takes place in Trish’s hometown of Toronto this year. Last week, Charlotte stated that she would have a match at SummerSlam, though without naming an opponent. But she claimed that her win at…
WWE have announced two matches for SmackDown through their official twitter account today. This Tuesday, Finn Balor will be facing Dolph Ziggler, who for some reason they really like to advertise now. Additionally, SmackDown Tag Team Champions Xavier Woods and Big E will square off with Drew McIntyre and Elias. One would presume this is a non-title match, but of course this was not specified. Balor, notably, was taken off of this weekend’s Smackville special for an undisclosed illness. It’s hard to say if he was pulled before the announcement of his match with Ziggler or not. But as of…
Corey Graves was on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast recently. He discussed, in a rather chatty manor, everything from Heyman and Bischoff being brought in to Seth Rollins’ recent twitter rants. You can see snippets of this below: (h/t 411mania.com) Corey Graves shares his thoughts on Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff’s new roles: “I think everyone is pretty excited. Obviously there are some pretty well publicized changes within the company and honestly I don’t know much more than anyone that reads the internet knows. I kind of get the news around the same time that everybody else…
There was a major title change last night on Impact Wrestling. The main event saw X-Division Champion Rich Swann defend his title against Jake Crist. Swann is a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion. He initially won the title back on January 9th, holding the belt for an impressive 194 days going into this defense. Crist is noted for his tag team with his brother Dave, with the two together known as oVe, which stands for Ohio Versus Everything. oVe has recently expanded to be led by fellow Ohio native Sami Callihan as well as Madman Fulton, aka former NXT wrestler Sawyer…
Coming to you out of Nashville, Tennessee, the cleverly named WWE Smackville is in the books. A sudden special that’s seemingly came and went as swiftly as it was announced. Eh, no, that’s not truly a big enough introduction, this is a massive Network special after all right? Lemme try that again… WE JUST WITNESSED WWE SMACKVILLE! Lovely. First up, we have a match that had to be changed… Finn Balor was intended to be challenging Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship, a chance at reclaiming the gold. Unfortunately, due to an undisclosed illness (per PWInsider) he was pulled from…
This one doesn’t happen every year folks… it’s New Japan’s Super J Cup! This is a 16-man single elimination tournament involving the best junior heavyweights from all across the globe. Like the wrestling olympics, the Super J-Cup only appears once every few years, sometimes with extremely long gaps. The next one, a three night event beginning August 22nd and concluding August 25th with only a single night off, will bring the Super J to America for the very first time. It’s the seventh installment of the tournament, with the original taking place back in 1996. It was concieved by junior…
We are roughly half-way through the G1 Climax, New Japan’s premier tournament and arguably the biggest annual tournament in all of wrestling! (There actually isn’t that much of an argument, but I’m a diplomatic guy, so we’ll say ‘arguably’ anyhow.) For the uninitiated, it is a round robin style tournament in which two blocks of ten square off, and the winners of both blocks go on to face one another in the final. Whoever wins the whole thing gets a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at the annual January 4th Wrestle Kingdom event in the legendary Tokyo Dome! That…

This time, Jericho is of course pairing up with All Elite Wrestling. Thus far the AEW wrestlers confirmed for the cruise are Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Cody, Hangman Page, Brandi Rhodes,…
Three days out from Monday Night Raw, WWE have made a few announcements for the next three-hour broadcast. All of these announcements have been made on WWE.com. You can see the announcements and their associated press releases below: Following Ziggler’s assault on Shawn Michaels, he’ll be facing off with Seth Rollins this Monday. The spirit of Raw Reunion carried over onto SmackDown LIVE when Shawn Michaels stopped by “Miz TV,” but the good vibes only lasted for a few minutes before Dolph Ziggler appeared and blasted the two-time Hall of Famer with a superkick right to the jaw. As reported…
