I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.

Ahead of his match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, in which he has a chance to regain his Universal championship, Seth Rollins sat down with TheHindu.com for an interview. (h/t 411mania.com) He took the opportunity to take several shots at Lesnar, claiming that he does nothing for the brand or the business and that no kid would grow up wanting to be like him. You can see excerpts from this interview below: Seth Rollins on Brock Lesnar once again being Universal Champion: “I’ve already shown the world I can beat Lesnar when I won the title against him at WrestleMania…

!So here’s a topic I see debated about quite a bit… what makes someone an effective heel in the modern age of wrestling? There are surely a lot of thoughts on this, but the way I look at it, the answer is actually a lot simpler than most realize. And yet, at the same time, it’s maybe the most difficult solution to pull off. It’s funny to me, because you see people booing, you see people getting upset and… there’s a debate now about what that means. Lines blurred on whether people react to them as you should a heel,…

CM Punk recently spoke to ESPN (h/t 411mania.com), in which he explained the brief talks he’s had so far with AEW. I’ve previously spoken on the possibility of CM Punk appearing at AEW All Out. So it’s interesting to hear him speak about this, as well as his Starrcast appearance and the expectations that arose from his involvement. You can see key quotes on this below. CM Punk on AEW claiming they’ve had talks with him: “No. I know they like to talk about me a lot. If I text Matt Jackson, ‘Hey, have a great show tonight,’ which I…

Per TMZ, Jimmy Uso has been arrested for driving under the influence and is currently being detained in jail with a $1,000 bond. This incident occurred in the wee hours of the morning in Pensacola, Florida. WWE was in Florida this week for Raw and SmackDown tapings. He was brought in at 3:04 AM after an officer driving behind him noticed he was speeding and swerving on the road. After being pulled over, he was said to smell of alcohol and refused to take DUI tests. Jimmy Uso was given a speeding citation as well as being arrested. At the…

It’s been a buzzing rumor for a while that WWE has been planning to put NXT on television, largely speculated to be with FS1 as part of their new deal with FOX. The reason for this was always thought to be pretty clear: to counterprogram AEW. Well… this is looking less like a rumor these days. According to Fightful.com, the intent was for them to put NXT opposite AEW, no matter what day they ended up on. That is a dedicated attack plan if ever I’ve seen one. Of course, AEW’s show ended up on the same timeslot that NXT…

It was announced that CM Punk would be taking part in Starrcast III. Starrcast, for those who don’t know, is basically a touring wrestling fan convention. While not officially affiliated with any particular promotion, it has a, let’s say, friendly relationship with the higher ups at AEW. There’s no disputing that much, considering that the first event took place right near All In that same weekend, the second at Double Or Nothing and the third back here in Chicago for All Out. In lieu of having their own Axxess style show, ala WWE’s major events, Starrcast basically fills that void…

Two weeks out from Fyter Fest, AEW returns with Fight For The Fallen. After growing accustomed to big waits for these events, this one has likely snuck up on many. This is the budding promotion’s third show, and a special one. It takes place in Jacksonville, Florida, one of the unfortunately many cities in America to see many incidents of random acts of gun violence. Reports in April showed that there were 51 homicides in the city over the first four months of the year. This show is being held in support of the local community, with all proceeds going to…

Welcome everyone to the premiere edition of the Golden Gauntlet! My name is Jordan Huie and something you should know about me is that I am an absolute tournament junkie. In any setting really, organize a high level crochet tournament and I’d probably watch it. But this especially holds true for wrestling. Single elim, double elim, round robin, they’re my jam. Not that I can think of any double elimination tournaments in wrestling off the top of my head but I assure you, if it happened, I’d be all over it. I’ve a dream of being head booker of a…
