I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.

We regretfully inform you that the legendary Harley Race passed away just a few hours ago at the time of this posting. Race had been fighting an illness for the past few weeks. He was hospitalized on July 15th due to failing health. Out of privacy concerns, no further information was given on what he was dealing with. Harley Race was a magnificent champion and one of the most influential men in wrestling history. A star wrestler from the 60s through the 80s, he amassed eight NWA World Heavyweight Title reigns. He is credited by many to be perhaps the…

Last night, AEW announced what the first match will be when they debut on TNT. With the premiere still a few months away, I figured that would be all for now. But no, they’ve already announced what may well be the main event. It’s a big-time six man tag match pitting the Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) against the legendary Chris Jericho and two mystery partners of his choosing. Omega and The Young Bucks have quite the history together as a six-man tag team. They made trios matches awesome for a time a couple years ago, as anytime…

The WWE 2K series has been a staple for several years now. It picked up immediately from where THQ left off, a legacy that could be traced back to the N64 days. While the games have been hit and miss in some areas, the sheer depth of features and roster size in recent years has been truly immense. Usually by this time of the year, we’ll have already seen the cover of the next WWE 2K installment. Traditionally the games release around October, barely over two months away and yet this year we’ve seen extremely little from 2K Games thus…

Last night on SmackDown Live, a random metal scaffolding – a favored prop to be found backstage at WWE shows going back decades – nearly fell on Roman Reigns. While he dodged out of the way just in the nick of time, he was quite shaken up. In theory it could’ve been a freak accident. But odds seem good that someone purposefully caused this to try and take Roman out. Roman Reigns is set to compete at SummerSlam, but an opponent has not yet been named. In fact Roman was just on his way to challenge someone when this incident…

Bad news for Bobby Lashley and his fans. Lashley hasn’t been seen since his part in the Universal Title No. 1 Contender’s battle royal back on July 15th. Per Fightful.com, Lashley has been sidelined with an injury in the past few weeks. And while the specifics of this aren’t confirmed, WWE’s internal inactive list suggests that he’ll be out for a while. He’s projected to return on November 2nd, so a little over three months from the time of this post. While injuries never happen at a bad time, this one seems particularly inopportune. The creative was just starting to…

As the biggest PPV in AEW’s short history – and probably the most historic PPV of the last decade – comes to focus, we have another episode of Road To All Out to whet our whistles. For those unfamiliar, AEW has been released high production videos on YouTube every week to build to their special events. Beginning with Double Or Nothing, the Road To series has been lauded for it’s serious presentation of professional wrestling. Unlike it’s hilarious cartoonish counterpart Being The Elite, it casts all of AEW’s storylines in a very legitimate light, whilst keeping in line with the…

– We have the first match announced for when AEW debuts on TNT, coming October 2nd! It will pit one of the three EVPs, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes against the self-proclaimed “Best Ever” Sammy Guevara. This unique matchup continues from where Cody left off at Fyter Fest. In between bouts with old names he’s closely associated with, like Dustin Rhodes and Shawn Spears, Cody genuinely seems to enjoy working with the younger crop of wrestlers and helping to elevate them in the eyes of the audience. It worked fairly well with Darby Allin and I can easily see the…

In spite of naming Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff Executive Directors of Raw and SmackDown respectively as a full month ago, their transition into their roles has been a slow one. Paul Heyman’s influence has crept up week to week, whilst Bischoff is still easing in to merely appearing regularly at the tapings. But the word is that atleast for the Raw side some real progress has been made. Per a report from F4WOnline, last night’s Raw is said to have had more Paul Heyman influence than any other before it. Coincidentally, this past Raw was also much better received…

After weeks of tormenting The Miz, it would seem Dolph Ziggler and the A-Lister are going to be squaring off at the Biggest Party of the Summer. WWE have announced earlier today that they will be squaring off at SummerSlam. Ziggler and The Miz have squared off on many an occasion, one of WWE’s most frequent rivalries. According to cagematch.net, a database of match histories, the two have been involved in no less than 146 matches with one another, albeit that includes Royal Rumble matches and battle royals. Still, a staggering number. In fact, this bout won’t even be their…

Last month, WWE implemented a new policy barring wrestling matches bleeding into commercial breaks. This came after years of TV matches being regularly interrupted by commercials, during which the competitors in the ring would usually begin to stall with restholds. This was never a particularly popular thing to do with fans, but it took the slowly emerging pressure from Fox to shift to a more sports-based product to get them to attempt to change this. However, they quickly made people miss mid-match commercials due to the way they opted to implement this. They could simply book more short matches or…
