I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
Jon Moxley vs. Jake Hager No Holds Barred Announced | AEW Dynamite Results | All Elite Wrestling
AEW Dynamite rolls on. We see a dramatic vignette building up Jon Moxley vs. Jake Hager, an upcoming AEW World Championship title match. We hear from Mox, Hager and Jericho. Hager doesn’t think Moxley knows what’s coming to him. Mox says he’s the most marked man in the industry since everyone wants to take away his title and that pisses him off. Talks about knowing Hager well and understanding that he can seperate consciousness from his body in a moment. Hager claims that he knows Moxley is below him, not as strong as him. Sammy Guevara talks up Hager’s undefeated…
AEW Dynamite rolls on. We see a video package talking up Hikaru Shida. I imagine the original plan was probably for Shida to challenge Nyla Rose at Double or Nothing since they’ve been holding off on that for a while in spite of Shida being a regular at #1 in the rankings. This leads to her match against Anna Jayy. Hikaru Shida vs. Anna Jayy Lock-up, Hikaru takes her into the ropes, clean break. Jayy swiftly tries to strike and gets her into the ropes too, turns around and whips her hair into Shida’s face quite mockingly. Gets some heat…
AEW Dynamite opens up with an announcement of the second half of the TNT Championship Tournament bracket. We will see Kip Sabian facing Dustin Rhodes and Lance Archer going up against Colt Cabana! So a Cody/Archer final now looking very likely. Hikaru Shida will be in action here tonight. Our first match of the night sees Kenny Omega take on Trent! They’re talking up their prior match in New Japan. They got the wrestlers in the crowd to give some ambiance again, separated by a few seats each. Kenny Omega vs. Trent Handshake to start with. Lock-up, takes him into…
Another episode of AEW Dynamite is coming to us tonight and you can expect the same coverage as always. Below you will see the results of the show plus links to recaps of each segment. Segment 1: In the opening segment, they announce the latter half of the TNT Championship Tournament bracket. It will see Kip Sabian take on Dustin Rhodes, and Colt Cabana going up against Lance Archer. This is funny because it leaves a couple of fitting potential semis on the table. Then in the opening contest, Kenny Omega took on Trent. They didn’t hold back, putting on a…
Another episode of AEW Dynamite is coming to us tonight. My name is Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and here is a quick preview of everything we can expect to see tonight! Darby Allin & Cody vs. Sammy Guevara & Shawn Spears This match is a preview of the upcoming TNT Championship tournament. Cody will be facing Shawn Spears in the first round, and Darby Allin will go up against Sammy Guevara, two rematches from prior pay-per-views. Cody and Darby have teamed together successfully before, though only the once. Still, they’re clear favorites… heels winning here would be interesting but…
Another iteration of AEW Dark comes to us tonight, yet again with an indy theme as more competitors who found their Mania weekend dates cancelled are on the broadcast. It’s a much shorter episode than usual at a 32 minute run-time so these likely won’t be long matches. Segment 1: To open the show, Cody and Tony Schiavone introduce the first half of the bracket for the upcoming TNT Championship Tournament. The first round will see Cody taking on Shawn Spears and Darby Allin will be facing Sammy Guevara, two rematches from prior PPVs. Speaking of Guevara, in the opening match…
AEW Dark is now down to it’s last match and of course the main event goes to the AEW World Champion Jon Moxley making his debut on AEW Dark. He faces off with the whimsically named Faboo Andre. He is quite a sight, a colorful attire with a glittery bright blue jacket, gap in his front teeth, a lengthy pontyail and a big smile on his face. He also has some pretty cool music as the commentators address, I think I’ve heard it used on these shows before… meanwhile, Jon Moxley is in the crowd area behind a camera as…
AEW Dark continues. We go directly into our third bout of the night with the returning Preston Vance, looking quite confident, making the official pull off his ring jacket before coming down to pose. He will be facing someone that’s absolutely nothing like him in Darby Allin. Thanks to the unique ramp he can’t skateboard out here and looks pretty mad about it. That’s my headcanon anyway. As he poses on the middle rope, before the bell rings, Vance surprises him by German Suplexing him off the second rope and sending him flying across the ring! Darby Allin vs. Preston…
AEW Dark continues and we’re wasting no time at all, going right into our second match of the evening as Shawn Spears takes on another Shawn in guest wrestler Shawn Dean. Spears is of course still on the lengthy #SearchForSpears in which he’s been looking for a tag team partner. Last week he teamed up with Robert “Ego” Anthony in a very noteworthy match, where it seemed clear that Anthony was actually carrying the team, only for Spears to inevitably ditch him like he does all the others. I’d expect to see Anthony back at some point, but for now…
AEW Dark begins with Tony Schiavone and Cody in front of one of the usual greenscreens. Actually this might be from Cody’s house I’m not sure… they talk up what a commentary duo they made on Dynamite this past week. They quickly talk about the big announcement of the week, an eight-person tournament to crown the brand new TNT Champion. One half of the bracket is revealed tonight and it’s two sets of PPV rematches. Cody vs. Shawn Spears and Darby Allin vs. Sammy Guevara. Cody notes that he’s got history with both Darby and Sammy that he could be…
