Bayley makes her way out now with a mic as WWE Friday Night SmackDown continues. Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you the live recap and results! Says “DAMN, I’m good!” Boasting endlessly about how there’s just something about her that can’t be produced, can’t be touched. Crowd gives her the what treatment as she talks about beating Lacey Evans. Bayley says that she has beaten everyone, which is why there’s no surprise that Charlotte Flair will be making the challenge so she just might as well come out here. But instead, out comes Naomi, fresh off her Rumble return and she is wearing an LED Disco Ball over her head, looking like Deadmau5!
“Welcome Back” chants as Naomi enters the ring. Says she’s missed us. Calls out Bayley for her bragging and saying she’s beaten everyone, but she’s never beaten her. As the former SmackDown Women’s Champion, she thinks that title could use some glow. Makes her look her in the eyes, but before she can finish her next sentence, Bayley clotheslines her to the mat! Raining down punches! Grabs the title and swings it, but Naomi ducks it – Springboard Roundhouse Kick lays Bayley out! She rolls to the floor in anguish as Naomi stands stall!
Usos making their way out for the main event here tonight as Michael Cole joyously shouts “SOMEONE’S GONNA EAT DOGFOOD”!
So yeah, seems like Naomi is the direction for Bayley, atleast for now.
Wonder if that’s gonna be an Elimination Chamber match or if they’re gonna take the opportunity to put it on at Super Show-Down. You gotta think they’re going to go for the chance to promote the first-ever Women’s title match in Saudi Arabia fairly soon. I think the chances are good that Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss will also be challenging the Kabuki Warriors on that night, just to make a particularly big thing out of all of this.
Either way, it’s a pretty logical course of action. Naomi is the freshest name they could possibly throw her right now and I can’t really recall ever seeing this feud before. Should make for a pretty good match. Also means we’ll be getting Naomi vs. Sasha Banks fairly soon too, and I’ll be into that as well, also not something I’ve seen a whole bunch of.
