The 27th incarnation of the tournament sees CHAOS member “The Sniper of the Skies” Robbie Eagles make his return to a NJPW ring for the first time since the COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) forced delay in March. Eagles trained at the NJPW New Zealand Dojo (Fale Dojo), which led to him breaking in with the promotion in February 2018.

New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) hosted its first Wrestle Kingdom 15 press conference a day after the Power Struggle feature event. Bullet Club member “Switchblade” Jay White who defeated G1 Climax 30 winner “Golden Star” Kota Ibushi for the right to challenge Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) leader and IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ Tetsuya Naito at Wrestle Kingdom 15.

The first headline match of the Power Struggle feature event at Edion Arena Osaka #1 saw Bullet Club member Kenta defend his right to make the V3 challenge of the second reign of IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley against former eight-time IWGP Heavyweight two-time IWGP Intercontinental, and Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi.

The headline match of the Power Struggle feature event at Edion Arena Osaka #1 saw “Golden Star” Kota Ibushi defend his right to challenge IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ Tetsuya Naito at Wrestle Kingdom 15 against “Switchblade” Jay White. 

The marquee match of the Power Struggle feature event put the 2,834 fans inside of Edion Arena Osaka #1 on the edge of their seat. It would be the fourth singles match (I, II, III) between Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) leader IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ Tetsuya Naito and Bullet Club member Evil during 2020 since the latter betrayed his former unit.

Coming off the first Road to Showdown event that went live on October 30th, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) continues the New Japan of America (NJoA) tour later tonight with three matches that features an NJPW debut and a return to NJoA.
