The fifth match of the event and the third WTL 2020 match saw reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and Suzuki-Gun members Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi) take on two-thirds of the reigning NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions and CHAOS members Hirooki Goto/Yoshi-Hashi.

The co Best of the Super Juniors (BOSJ 27) and World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) tournaments got underway on November 15, 2020. The event at the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium drew a crowd of 2,558 (reduced crowd due to Coronavirus, 2019), and witnessed the largest card since New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) returned from the COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) delay.

While this is the first World Tag Leauge entry for two-time winner Sanada and reigning NEVER Openweight Champion “The Dragon” Shingo Takagi, the Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) members are one of the favorites to win World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) trophies.

Reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and Suzuki-Gun members Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi) come into World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) with a lot of momentum behind them. Despite Dangerous Tekkers performing well during WTL 2018 & WTL 2019, their ascension to IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions came as a surprise to many New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) fans in the west.

The prolific six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and Bullet Club members Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga/Tanga Loa) [GOD] come into World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) with a bit of something to prove. While they are tied for most all-time reigns with the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship and are fifth in all-time defense rankings, the team has never won a WTL tournament nor claimed victory at Wrestle Kingdom.

Former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and World Tag League 2019 (WTL 2019) winners, FinJuice (Juice Robinson/David Finlay) enter World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) as one of the favorites, despite not having teamed together since the forced COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) delay.
