Pentagon Jr. thought injuring Christopher Daniels would give Lucha Brothers tag team glory, but now he has to face the consequences of his actions. During the tag team Championship tournament in AEW, the Lucha Brothers would attempt to take South-Cal Uncensored (SCU) out of competition when Pentagon Jr. would deliver a Package Piledriver to Christopher Daniels, injuring him.
This move should have been to Lucha Brothers benefit, but it simply moved Scorpio Sky into competition, which would lead to SCU becoming the inaugural AEW tag team champions. They would defeat Lucha Brothers on AEW Dynamite to win the belts, and defend them against them & Private Party at AEW Full Gear. Following the match at Full Gear, Christopher Daniels would return and attack Pentagon Jr. This week on Dynamite we will finally see The Fallen Angel show what made him a former Ring Of Honor champion as he enters his first singles match for AEW.
Christopher Daniels Legacy
Christopher Daniels is one of the biggest wrestlers in North America to have never signed a major deal with WWE. He had a developmental deal with them around 1998, appearing on programs such as programs with Sunday Night HEAT as a jobber. He would really begin to build his legacy in Ring Of Honor, where he competed in the main event of their first show ever, facing Low Ki and Bryan Danielson in a triple threat. Daniels also competed in the first match for the Ring Of Honor Championship, facing eventual winner Low Ki, Spanky (better known as Brian Kendrick) and Doug Williams in a 60 minute fatal four way Ironman match, where Daniels was the only man to not be pinned or submitted.
Around the same time, Daniels would be making his name in TNA Wrestling as part of their X-Division, where he would compete in the best match in company history, the main event of Unbreakable 20005. He faced AJ Styles & Samoa Joe in a triple threat for the X-Division Championship in a performance which earned them the only 5 star rating they would ever get from the esteemed Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
He would eventually meet his tag team partner Kazarian through Impact, they would go to Ring Of Honor, Daniels would become Ring of Honor champion in 2017, find a third man in Scorpio Sky, and they would become three of the first signees for All Elite Wrestling.
Pentagon Jrs Potential
One of the fastest rising stars in wrestling today, Pentagon Jr is damn near untouchable. He made his name in the cinematic promotion Lucha Underground, before moving on to companies like Impact Wrestling & Pro Wrestling Guerilla, before getting a contract for All Elite Wrestling alongside his brother Rey Fenix. Unlike Daniels, he is still building his legacy in wrestling, so being able to knock off a living legend like Christopher Daniels would be a boon to his rising career. He could very well be AEW Champion very soon, and no one would be able to dispute he deserves that position.
Also Set For Dynamite
Dynamite is going to be must see TV once again, with this match joining Jon Moxley vs. Joey Janella and The Young Bucks & Dustin Rhodes vs. The Inner Circle also set to happen. Add in PAC wanting a rematch to avenge his loss to Kenny Omega, and Wednesday Night will again be action packed.
