January 1st brings us a new year, and we’re ringing in 2020 with a very special episode of AEW Dynamite! It’s Homecoming time, a return to Jacksonville, a very storied site for the young promotion that is All Elite Wrestling! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer, here all night as always to give you the live results from the show as they come! There’s certainly a lot of big news coming out of tonight’s show so let’s get to ‘em!
We just saw the segment in which Chris Jericho made his special offer to Jon Moxley. Mox has been on a big roll of late, and in turn has set his sights on becoming AEW World Champion! But the champ and leader of the Inner Circle instead invited Moxley to join his stable and become an unstoppable force. While no one expected Moxley to say yes to such a thing, he’s anything but predictable and loves doing what we least expect. In addition, Jericho promised a special surprise for Moxley if he said yes.

He wants Moxley to lead the Inner Circle alongside him. He offers him 49% of the Inner Circle LLC, a spot as Executive Vice President of the Inner Circle, and he also has a Ford GT with a Mox vanity plate to offer him. Says the two of them can shove their fists so deep down Cody’s throat they can pull his pink tie out of his ass. Rub Jungleboy’s ‘defeat’ in his face, tie the Young Bucks in an ugly Christmas bow, make everyone feel as embarassed and stupid and ugly as the people in Jacksonville. Wishes him a Happy New Year, and is looking forward to hearing from him soon.
Moxley takes up the mic and says fancy, expensive cars aside, he’s always considered Chris Jericho a friend and a mentor. And out of respect, he will give him his answer in person next week. Boos. Says the whole world is gonna find out what’s in store for 2020 live on Dynamite.
So not only does Jericho want him in the Inner Circle but he’s offering a leadership role, in addition to a very fancy car. Odds are still extremely good that Mox will turn this down and I’ll be hearing his response live next week!
