At AEW Revolution, Chris Jericho lost the AEW Championship to Jon Moxley in a wild brawl of a main event. With the championship being so integral to Jericho as a character, that influence resulting in the power of The Inner Circle, it has many wondering what could be next for this faction and their fearless leader.
Chris Jericho Is The Master Of Reinvention
While the character of Le Champion was a fan favorite for Chris Jericho, it is important to remember that he seems to always be planned well ahead. It wouldn’t be a shock if it came out that he always had his next six months of character work planned out. This is something that will help ease the mind of his fans when a sudden revision of character is needed, like the current situation he finds himself in.
A Rematch Will Be In Order
While the victory over Chris Jericho by Jon Moxley was very decisive, Jericho is not the type to ever leave a loss unanswered. It was the first time he was beaten in singles action in AEW, still giving him one of the best records in the company. That will help keep him high on the rankings. Should Jericho be able to grab a cheap win or two, we could see him gain a title shot at Moxley.
Tag Team Championships
Another possible route to regaining gold in AEW could come in Inner Circle reigniting their feud with The Elite, who currently hold the AEW Tag Team Championships. Jericho has had high profile singles matches with both Kenny Omega & Hangman Page, as well as nearly captured the titles when SCU was champion alongside Sammy Guevara. The Inner Circle has many great potential team options, from Sanatna & Ortiz, Jericho & Guevara, to even a team involving Jake Hagar. They have enough options to keep anyone guessing, especially if they used the free bird rule to have all 5 men be champion.
Blood & Guts
During AEW Revolution, a special episode of Dynamite was announced. This will be called Blood & Guts, and a War Games match was teased. With The Inner Circle being the most dominant faction in AEW at this time, we can rightfully assume they will be one of the teams involved. The Elite & Dark Order could also have a presence in the match, making full on faction warfare a likely big storyline over the next few weeks.
