In All Elite Wrestling, Chris Jericho & The Inner Circle were set to face The Elite in Blood & Guts, the AEW version of War Games. This has been postponed until they do it infront of a crowd, and Jericho has a new target in an old friend of his. This is Matt Hardy, who has sided with The Elite to replace Nick Jackson. He did this because he owes the Bucks of Youth a favour, and has no strong ties to The Elite. However, as long as he is with them, he is Jericho’s enemy. Could this be risky for Jericho, as he could end up being Broken as well?
Matt Hardy Is Looking To Break The Maker Of Pain
On this past episode of AEW Dynamite, we saw the first of many mindgames from Matt Hardy as he appeared to teleport through the stands to get in the head of Jericho. This was later explained as the work of Vanguard-1, but whatever happened it had Jericho flustered. If this is only the opening tricky of Hardy, who knows what else he could have planned for Jericho, as they will likely clash both physically and mentally soon. With Hardy having a new more vicious entity at play, he very well could be able to break Jericho and bring him to his side.
Chris Jericho Is The Master Of Reinvention
Ever since he started wrestling back in the 1990’s, Jericho has proven to be adaptable. He is on one of the best runs of his career as Le Champion, but that character lacks something now that he is no longer AEW Champion. The next step could be him slipping into the Broken Universe, and using his Painmaker alter-ego to do battle with Broken Matt Hardy. The only way to match someone like Hardy is to go to his level, and Jericho is one of the few who can do this. With shows for companies like AEW being in jeoprady due to COVID-19, we could see them make use of the mysterious Hardy Compound for a show stealing match between these two legends. Hardy has done shows for Impact from the compound, making it an option for AEW as well.
