The third match of the first round of the annual Cinderella Tournament hosted by World Wonder Ring Stardom (Stardom) was one of the more exciting matches to last under three minutes. Konami and AZM are known for having sound basics and having the ability to put on impressive performances, but both raised the bar of what’s possible in a 2 minute and 36-second match.
Konami defeated AZM with a Triangle Lancer after a continuous exchange of catch and counter attempts after AZM nearly eliminated Konami over the top rope in the early stage of the match. The exchanges were crisp, polished, and made perfect sense in the context of an intense chain wrestling affair.
Konami’s victory means she advanced to face the winner of Syuri and Jamie Hayter in the quarter-final round of the tournament. The match is worth going out of the way to watch to see how much is possible in a short amount of time.
