WWE Friday Night SmackDown emanates from the Performance Center tonight. Below, you will see the results from the show as they come, plus links to recaps of every given segment.
Segment 1: The opening saw WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks make their way out to call out Paige, who was supposed to be here to confront them. But she’s seemingly not here tonight due to ‘travel issues’, should be noted she is from England and there’s a notable travel ban on right now. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross interrupted the duo for an impromptu match. Bayley & Sasha got the win after Asuka appeared to attack Alexa.
Segment 2: Michael Cole has a sit-down interview with Roman Reigns, who takes shots at Goldberg for being a part-timer. He promises victory at WrestleMania, of course. Backstage, Jeff Hardy is being interviewed about his return to the WWE. King Corbin got in his face, claiming that some people aren’t happy he’s back, mocking him for his past addiction issues… Jeff then points out that the two of them conveniently were already set to have a big match tonight.
Segment 3: Daniel Bryan seeks out Drew Gulak, puts him over for his showing at Elimination Chamber. Says if he’s still willing to teach, then he’s willing to learn. Sami Zayn and co. interrupt this however, with Sami mocking Bryan for refusing their help months ago only to come to a nobody for advice. A match is set for later, with Bryan taking on Cesaro. Then, basically the whole tag team title Elimination Chamber match from this past Sunday is shown.
Segment 4: Miz and Morrison cut a promo in the ring pretending that fans are in attendance, trying to get mocking cheap heat. Mojo Rawley confirms that Rob Gronkowski will be in attendance next week, amidst rumors of his signing with WWE. Then, Daniel Bryan defeated Cesaro with a surprise cradle. A gang attack began, Drew Gulak intervened and the babyfaces actually ran off Sami and co.
Segment 5: In the final segment, out came John Cena to talk about how he does care about the future but that future is not Bray Wyatt. Calls him overhyped, overvalued and overprivileged WWE Superstar in existence. Bray Wyatt interrupts him to claim that Cena once broke him and now he’ll do the same to him.
