Charlotte Flair made a bold choice after winning the 2020 Royal Rumble. She would break tradition and not chase the RAW or Smackdown Women’s Championships, instead aiming for NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. They have come to blows on a few occasions, including this past Monday on the latest episode of RAW. Ripley would show up and deliver a stiff punch to the face of the Queen. She would take this chance to address her fans in NXT, only to be interrupted.
Charlotte Flair Thinks Rhea Ripley Isn’t Ready For Her At Wrestlemania
As far as stars go in WWE today, Charlotte is one of the biggest and most well defined. Having won many women’s championships, she is a proven big match competitor. This isn’t lost on Rhea Ripley, but she remains confident that she can beat Charlotte at Wrestlemania. As she would begin to speak to the NXT faithful, Charlotte would make an unannounced appearance to say she will drown Rhea at Wrestlemania, and prove she isn’t ready.
A Wild Brawl Ensues
As tensions boiled over, they would start a brawl in the ring, with Charlotte Flair getting the edge with a huge big boot which was elevated by the fact that she was wearing boots with a noticeable heel. They exchanged punches on the ground, until Charlotte Flair attempted her patented Figure Eight Leglock, only to be sent into the corner. Charlotte would roll to the outside, and notice the leg of Rhea very near the corner of the ring. She would slam her leg repeatedly into the post before locking on a Figure Four around the post. This left Rhea laying on the floor in pain as Charlotte posed with the NXT Women’s Championship.
The fans were firmly on the side of Rhea Ripley, loudly chanting for Charlotte to go back to RAW. However even on RAW, crowds are preferring Rhea Ripley. She will be the uncontested babyface come Wrestlemania, with every fan on her side especially after this brawl. You don’t often see a dominant force like Rhea get so much sympathy going into a big match, giving this a fresh feeling.
