WWE seems to not want to give the fans one match that people have been wanting for years now. This is the clash of two titans who have dominated both the ring and the octogon, Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar. We have not seen Lesnar since his lost to Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania 36, but Lashley is finally at a main event level. He will face Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at Backlash, and he has compared McInyre to Lesnar in an interview ahead of the match.
Bobby Lashley Feels Drew McIntyre Is Akin To Brock Lesnar
“We are fans the same way – well, at least I am – the same way everybody else is. When I heard the winner gets Brock, I was like, is this it? Am I finally getting it? Then it’s ‘not now!’ I don’t know what the situation is. I don’t know what the case is. But I do believe eventually it will happen before Brock and I are senior citizens. The one thing that people – and I don’t want to switch gears here – but Drew McIntyre is a Brock Lesnar. He definitely is. I think that a matchup with Drew is just as exciting as Brock, to me, if done right. Of course, I want the Brock match. I’m not erasing that [laughs]. But I think both of those matches are great matches. I think eventually the dots will be connected and I think right now with the right people in the right places, I think a lot of really big things could be happening.”
There is a certain level of dominance that comes from both Lesnar & McIntyre, which makes the comparison great. We might not get the faux MMA battle we want from Lesnar & Lashley from this, but you will get an incredible brawl. With Lashley finally becoming a main event level talent once again, the clash with Lesnar is now invetiable. Is that a match you’re still wanting to see?
