AEW Dark rolls on. We now have Marko Stunt, who seems to be having singles matches more frequently all the time, taking on Jason Cade, who Excalibur still really does not like. Talks up the tantrum he threw after his loss last week. Marko is introduced as ‘Mr. Fun Size’ which is a nickname he’s always liked but I don’t recall hearing in ring introductions until tonight. Dasha high fives him as he makes his way into the ring.
Marko Stunt vs. Jason Cade
Lock-up, Cade takes him swiftly to the corner. Clean break. Marko charges him and starts pounding on him until he bails from the ring, Marko wants a dive but Cade slips into the ring, Marko is able to hold off though. Dropkick between the ropes, sunset flip to get Cade onto his knees, Marko kips up and gets him with a charging knee strike to the face for a 2 count! Charge, Cade evades him but Marko slips to the top rope to avoid a shot, top rope elbow drop to back of the head for another 2 count! Jason Cade rolls to the apron and wants a timeout. Marko comes over and Cade nails a Hot Shot!
Takes Marko over to the corner and stomps him into the ropes! Marko with some upkicks though. Fights his way up but Cade lays him out with a massive elbow to the face! Marko dropping like a sack of stones. Cade pulls him up, knee lift to the gut. Marko wants to fight back but Cade with a charging kick, power whip into the corner! Cade poses as it’s clear Marko has a bloody nose now. Stunt fights his way up with chops and forearms until Cade gets him with a boot the gut, and then a second devastating elbow! Stunt keeps coming back though, whip reversed, Cade with a charging elbow strike. Marko evades another charge, Cade does the same though.
Takes him up top, Marko with a forearm, Cade with a series of blows gets Marko in position, Cade leaps up for a massive DDT spiking him onto the canvas! Narrow nearfall! Hoists him onto his shoulders… Marko with a Poison Rana!! Springboard Headscissor takes Cade to the outside, tope suicida! Throws him into the ring and pursues, he’s worse for wear though, slowed by the potentially broken nose. Cade with a boot up off a charge, goes to the second rope but Marko blocks him. Surprise Razor’s Edge! Stunt to the top rope for a 450 Splash and that’s that!
Winner: Marko Stunt
So that’s what it looks like when Marko controls the majority of a match. He still gets beaten pretty bad when he’s NOT in control but all the same, came off pretty well. He needs to be checked afterward though.
