WWE Monday Night Raw Results (5/4/2020)

WWE Monday Night Raw is on as we speak! Below you’ll see the results of the show plus links to in-depth recaps!

Segment 1: MVP’s VIP Lounge opened the show. As a follow-up to the Men’s Money In The Bank summit last week, now we have a women’s variant with Asuka, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. An argument breaks out rather hurriedly and ends just as hurriedly since none of these three are women they want in lengthy promos. It ended with Asuka and Shayna Baszler double-teaming Nia Jax, a stereo big boot taking her out of the ring.

Segment 2: The Last Chance Gauntlet begins, with the final spot in the Men’s Money In The Bank ladder match on the line. The first two out are Bobby Lashley and, incredibly, Titus O’Neil. Lashley eliminated him of course, and did the same in fairly quick succession to the next two men as well, them being Akira Tozawa and Shelton Benjamin.

Segment 3: Bobby Lashley continues his run by facing off with Humberto Carrillo. He batters him around and as he’s stomping him into the ropes for a few seconds the referee decides to disqualify him. Lashley is furious, destroys Carrillo with a big spear and leaves him vulnerable for Angel Garza, the next man out. But then Carrillo also defeats him with a quick sunset flip.

Segment 4: Austin Theory is the next in the gauntlet. He nails Humberto Carrillo with a superplex but Carrillo hooks legs with him to get the surprise cradle victory. Finally, the last entrant, just as rumors suggested, is AJ Styles. Without too much difficulty AJ submits Humberto with the Calf Crusher to get the victory.

Segment 5: AJ Styles vows to win Money In The Bank. Seth Rollins says it’s his duty to lead this generation of WWE superstars.

Segment 6: Shane Thorne & Brendan Vink got their first televised win as a tag team by defeating Cedric Alexander and Ricochet.

Segment 7: The WWE Raw Tag Team Champions the Street Profits took on the Viking Raiders in a non-title match. After a pretty good bout, the Raiders ultimately got the decisive win with the Viking Experience.

Segment 8: We get promos from Drew McIntyre, the Viking Raiders, Aleister Black, Rey Mysterio and Charlotte Flair. The last one ends with Liv Morgan interrupting and challenging Charlotte to a match.

Segment 9: Charlotte Flair defeated Liv Morgan.

Segment 10: The main event saw the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre face off with Buddy Murphy. McIntyre remained invincible tonight. He defeated Murphy and afterwards Seth Rollins attacked him and McIntyre got the advantage, running him off.

I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
