A modern deathmatch legend, Havoc was arguably one of the more popular stars to come of the UK wrestling scene, especially after her admittedly excellent regression storyline in Progress Wrestling. However, none of that matters at the moment. Not his matches, not his trimuphs, not even his recent title shots. Right now, he is being faced with accusations of rape.
Jimmy Havoc Was Targetted In The #SpeakingOut Movement
Alongside many of his peers, Havoc would get his moment in the worst type of spotlight. He has been accused of rape, in a message that was sent out after arriving to his ex-girlfriend. As the story is told, this girl was at an after party following a show. At the party, she would drink all night alongside Havoc, a man she figured she could trust. She knew he was in a relationship, though they still got intimate. They would make out, and head into a room which she would later figure out would be a mistake.
Feeling hazy after a long night of drinking, she would be asked for sex. She said she was on her period and declined, but he’d force himself inside of her. There was no condoms present. With Havocs history of deathmatches where blood is practically required to spill, a higher chance of STI’s comes with it. She would have pushed him off and left if in a better state of mind. Havoc would leave and re-enter the room, remorseful for what he did, and the girl was amicable, just wanting to get out as fast as she could. They would remain in contact after this event, but any future contact was limited to awkward small talk.
It is important to note this is shared by his now ex-girlfriend, who he had cheated on. In some instances, that sort of behavior could lead to someone being a bit vengeful. If we take a look at her other tweets, they do seem to show a very aggressive stance on this. At this point in time, these are all allegations, so it’s important to keep all the information in mind as we try to form an opinion on the whole situation.
Suspended From AEW While Investigations Happen
We have only heard this side of the story, and Havoc has yet to make comment on these claims. AEW on the other hand, would release the following statement. “We wish Jimmy Havoc all the best as he receives treatment and counselling in an effort to overcome the mental health and substance abuse challenges in his life. We are aware of the various reports related to Jimmy, we are evaluating his status with our company and will address it when he has successfully completed his rehabilitation.”
If it is chalked up to mental health and substance abuse issues, Havoc is sick, simply put. It doesn’t excuse what he has been accused of, but it does help to explain the behavior said. We here at The Overtimer will keep you updated on this situation.
