MVP has had a very interesting few months within WWE. He was brought in for the 2020 Royal Rumble, a nice surprise for the fans he’s gained over the years. This was intended to be a one-off at the time, but the reaction to his return was huge, only topped by the return of Edge later in the night. Because of this, he was brought on for a few more matches against the likes of Rey Mysterio. He would even claim that match with Mysterio would be his final match in WWE, before having more matches including a qualifying match for Money In The Bank. Despite his occasional appearances in the ring, his main role would be that of a backstage producer in WWE. That has already changed, and he is now back to being a full-time wrestler for WWE.
MVP Has Been One Of The Best Parts Of WWE TV Lately
Since he returned at the Royal Rumble, MVP has been low-key killing all aspects of the job. His matches are still good and he can outmatch just about anyone in the company on the microphone making the VIP Lounge a fun time. He’s been doing commentary on WWE Main Event, and it is often the best part of the show. He has also become the new manager of Bobby Lashley, who very well could be the WWE Champion after Backlash. MVP has also had his eye on other talent like Apollo Crews, Ricochet, and Cedric Alexander. Many assumed he would be stepping away from the ring, but his recent performances shows that he still has a ton like in the tank.
Could This Be A Temporary Measure While The Roster Is Slim?
After WWE would release most of the undercard talent on the roster, MVP being used more as a wrestler could just be until they can resign some of those people, and build up some potential NXT call ups. MVP does has nostalgia for a certain generation of wrestling fans, but he’s far from the biggest name that’ll draw fans in. He’s proved himself more than capable, and we could see him get some title shots over the next few months, as he begins to wrestle more and more.
