AAA‘s booker, Konnan, suffered the passing of his mother from Covid-19. The former superstar in Mexico told Dave Meltzer about the news. Solo Wrestling reported that Konnan didn’t tell the news to many close to him.
Konnan has been working closely with many major promotions, like AAA, Major League Wrestling (MLW), and Impact Wrestling. Part of the rise of AAA and the agreement with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was thanks to the mind of Konnan. He was a giant star in Mexico, previously being a young man from Miami that was boxing. By accident, he got to Mexico and rose to stardom, he was hailed as the Hulk Hogan of Mexico. Later, he wrestled in World Championship Wrestling, and at one point, was an option for WWE.
The Covid-19 virus has affected many wrestlers in the industry. Lana announced today announced that her parents tested positive for Covid-19. She noted on Twitter:
My mom tested positive for COVID. She is in the ICU right now. She is asthmatic and is on oxygen. Thank you for all the thoughts & prayers

Another case of passing away was Linda McMahon’s mother, Evelyn Edwards, at the age of 93. Her passing away was not from Covid-19, but more of natural causes. Stephanie McMahon wrote on Twitter:
Last week my 93 yr old grandmother passed peacefully, surrounded by people who love her. One of the last things she said to me was, “Let there be love”. Love is what heals us all. To anyone who is hurting or struggling, I send my love to you. #RIPMima Thank you for everything.
As Super Luchas notes: “Evelyn Edwards worked at Cherry Point Military Base in Havelock, North Carolina, where Vince McMahon’s mother also worked. That meant that Vince and Linda could meet when they were teenagers.”
