WWE Smackdown Results and Recap spotted AJ Styles backstage as he was going over the Phenomenal Intercontinental stats as we headed to commercial with Abyss (WWE name unknown) from Impact Wrestling.
As expected, AJ Styles came out to the ring when we returned from commercial.

He started it off by saying no one cares about Retribution as there were more important things to worry about, like who will face Style next.
He pointed out how he’s been told he needs to be a fighting champion, and he’s done that.
He said he wants to enjoy the moment and go home and relax on his twitch account.
He pointed out how many fans say who he should face by citing statistics, and it dawned on him that when he’s watching baseball and football, he’s looking at statistics.
He then realized he’s a “handsome nerdy stud himself” because he cares about statistics.
He said he hired the Phenomenal Intercontinental Statistic System (P.I.S.S). He pointed out then name’s a work in progress and told the enhancement talent to shut up.
And now, for the grand unveiling
As if anyone was surprised, the number 1 selection was AJ Styles.
Gee, what a shock.
Of course, the rest of the board was empty. Again, not a shock.
“No one has earned the right to be in the ring with the Phenomenal AJ Styles.”
He promised if we work really, really, hard, then they can get on the board to face him.
Thankfully, Jeff Hardy’s music interrupted him and he came out.
Jeff pointed out how he respects Styles, but he said he was set up by Sheamus and it could’ve been him.
But he said that’s in the past, so he wants to move on.
He added that it was the first title he won on his own after conquering his demons, and added Aj Styles vs. jeff Hardy sounds mega cool.
He asked for a chance to take Styles on for the Intercontinental Championship.
Styles returned the compliments and how he respects him and what he’s done. The compliments poured from Styles as he pointed out Jeff deserves to be on the board.
After some more smoozing, Styles said, “Hell no!”
How many surprises do they think we can handle? Still, WWE Smackdown Results and Recap really enjoyed this segment. These two are awesome together.
Styles added this isn’t a pity part, and Jeff went after Styles and knocked him out of the ring. He then filled the empty space with a nice big Jeff Hardy signature.
